Thank you!

A local BBQ place makes their pulled pork from scratch and sells sliders for two dollars. I am a regular customer no longer needing to say, "no bun." The workers are college-age guys who have no concept of serving size---they think a portion of "slider-size" meat is what they are scooping out when instead it is enough for my meal plus plenty leftover for DH's lunchbox. Sometimes, I feel guilty but most of the time not. Congrats on the couch find. I recently bought a Flexsteel sofa all excited to research online Flexsteel is an Iowa business. Once in the house, we turned the sofa over only to find a "made in Mexico" tag; so much for Made in the USA. Good Luck canning "summer in jars"; my job today is making syrup out of just-picked chokecherries. You picked a great haircolor. As a woman in my late 50's, I gladly choose to reserve funky trends for the young to enjoy. Way to Go.
Yeah we saw what this food truck was dishing up for one sandwich and decided we could share it. They were massive! And the crowd was so big that we didn't want to get specific with our order.
Move always loved funky hair colors. I've been every color under the sun. But at 33 with a professional job in finance, I'm a little more aware of making the wild colors still look somewhat professional lol. Plus, it helps that I think workplaces are opening up a bit more about hair colors and tattoos and such.

Welcome to Sunday! It looks like it will be partly cloudy and warm here, so there may be some beachtime. I'm thinking of doing a small cookout late afternoon with a few friends and family members. My chef son is away so it has to be simple (grilled chicken) since I am doing the cooking (LOL). DH always to to do the cooking, but now it is my job so it doesn't get fancy!
QOTD: My favorite summer memories are mostly vacations at the beach (surprise, surprise). When I was very young we would go to the New Jersey shore and rent a cottage on a street that dead-ended at th beach. We had some great family times there. We also used to do some family camping and though I never liked sleeping in sleeping bags, I did love the parks we would go to.
2 Years, 4 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Grilled chicken and salad
S: home-made yogurt

Good morning menu friends! It's raining here so no walk for Lily and I yet. No work today though so hopefully we can squeeze one in somewhere. QOTD lots of camping memories when the boys were little. We tent camped then and the youngest loved it and the oldest hated it. Finally when he got old enough to stay home alone he didn't come. It was better than listening to him shriek everytime he saw any kind of bug! We had a lot on a local lake that was accessible only by boat and it was beautiful. As I gained weight I no longer was comfortable camping or on the boat so we just stopped going and turned the lot over to someone else. Okay that makes me sad now. There were way too many things my weight kept me from doing and then kept my kids from doing because they didn't want to leave me at home. On to a happier note hubby and I were asked to help as visiting volunteer coordinators here at Midwest Mission Distribution Center. You come and either camp for free or if its toocold stay in the duplex(they gave permission for Lily to stay there too if needed). You work with the staff volunteer coordinator to see that the volunteers enjoy their time here. There's some teaching, getting snacks ready, setting up work supplies for the day, general housekeeping chores and making coffee. You get a small stipend too so it sounds like fun. We'll be up here the month of December doing that and helping with inventory too. We're close enough to home we can run home on weekends and even in the evening if needed. They have a great staff and do a great work here. Accountability was great as I was busy helping hubby plane and cut wood for decorative boxes. Steps were 12,224 and no extra bites were taken. Post op 5 years 11 months and weight at 119.2 today. Heres the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 1 c ham and beans D 1 better with cheddar braut 1/2 c carrots S 5 oz cottage cheese with 1 T no sugar added blackberry jam(yum!). Off to make coffee. Have a great day all and make your best choices today. You are worth it!
Karen, DH and you are such good, giving people!

When you posted that you were walking your dog in Chatham IL, I thought you meant the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.

Mornin!
I'm still at my friend's house in Ohio. Today we're going to the town we both lived in when we met almost 50 years ago - it's about 30 miles from here. We're meeting up with another school friend for lunch. Really looking forward to it. I'm glad I came.
Yesterday we went to this campgrounds where my friend & her DH have a camper - they go there sometimes on the weekends. It was very nice. There's a lake there - and their camper has a lot of trees around it. We sat out on their deck most of the day and just talked - very relaxing. So nice sitting there enjoying the beautiful weather and not feeling any stress at all!!
Accountability - food choices weren't very good yesterday, but calories were within range. I have no idea what we're eating today - I hope they pick a lunch place that has some decent choices. The one place they wanted to go to is, fortunately, closed on Sundays, because I have no idea what I would have ordered there - maybe soup?? Nothing else really would have worked for me. But we'll see what they come up with. I don't know the places at all, so...
QOTD: I don't really have a particularly favorite memory, but I have lots of memories of spending summers at the pool..or lake
3 years 1 month out:
B: plain Fage Greek yogurt with raspberries
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: ??
AS: probably not
D: ?? they have a side of beef in their freezer. They were talking about grilling steaks last night but we never got around to it (had hot dogs at the camper instead), so maybe steaks tonight??
Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
QOTD: Catching fireflies and picking gooseberries in my grandmother's back yard. (She would make a gooseberry pie). Also every summer we would go to our cabin in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. We would visit The North Pole, an amusement park out there that (at that time) had baby goats running around that you could feed bottled milk with a nipple on it! I loved doing that! Those baby goats were SO cute! (Julia)
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 83, Calories 1,270, Carbs - 116.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana
L: funeral food so unknown
D: going out to eat with brother, SIL, their kids, Saralisa & Ryan so unknown.
