Morning everyone!

My week started nice and easy, but by the end....well, let's just say, you can tell it was pretty rough when you catch yourself looking forward to a dentist appointment on a Friday afternoon, because that means you get to leave the office early hahhaha

No big plans for us this weekend. Birthday dinner at a pub for a family member's 50th. Tomorrow we head to the farm for the day.

what about you all? What's on this weekends agenda?

Qotd: do any of you speak more than one language? If so what? Or would you like to learn another language?

i speak French and English. I've been half trying to learn German, I think I can, I'm just being lazy. I took a Spanish class in college, but i never really used it, so it's pretty much gone.

menu:

all kind of up in the air, cleaning up leftovers I think. So, salmon, Greek salad? Not feeling very inspired lately....

Quick check in between errands. DW has lab work this morning, then a run to Trader Joe's and Target. I'd like to do either a kickboxing class or Aqua Zumba today but I may enjoy the nice weather with a long walk.

Menu is up in the air.

Mornin' All!

I had a wonderful time in Chicago yesterday. Perfect weather for a graveside memorial service, and the lunch with my cousins (none first cousins - just second and third) was SO MUCH FUN but I had SO MANY CALORIES!! Good Lord! Never again!! I feel like a stuffed sausage!! The drive here to Ohio was OK, but only after I got out of Chicago. The traffic was HORRENDOUS. It normally takes about six hours to get from Chicago to this part of Ohio, but it took three just to get out of Chicago. UGH! So....now here I am in Ohio. I haven't seen my friend in over 20 years. Although we get along fine, I sensed a real gulf between us - we've really moved in opposite directions. And her husband - well, he seems like a nice enough guy, but no one I would ever hang out with. He was cursing last night over something or other. Not that DH and I have never cursed - we most certainly have - but around someone we just met? Um...no. He's a bit coarse, I think. Should be an interesting couple of days...

QOTD: I used to love languages but have never spoken any proficiently. I took Spanish, French, German, Swedish, and Japanese. I remember enough Spanish and French to order off a menu or ask directions and kinda understand the response, but that's about it. And the others? Nope. Just a few words. Might be a good retirement project - learning a language..

I have no earthly idea what we're eating today - although I have a big stash of protein bars just in case...

3 years 1 month out:

B: plain Fage yogurt with fresh raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half (I hope...), Miralax/protein shake

That's weird. I thought I responded to this but my post isn't here...

No real plans for the weekend yet, though we may get together with friends tomorrow. Right now it is warm and muggy again and a bit drippy from an earlier shower

QOTD: I speak English only sadly. DS can speak what he calls "kitchen Spanish" which he needs with his kitchen staff sometimes and he can expand that a bit based on his years of classroom Spanish, but I'm just English speaking.

Accountability: Good until after dinner. Some leftover risotto was consumed as well as Pure Protein Salted Carmel protein bars. They are evil (better than candy). I am NOT buying them again!

2 Years, 4 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Leftover ahi tuna sashimi (thought I was getting a crab cake at the restaurant last night but this a special)

S: home-made yogurt

I went through a stage where I had protein bars every night for a snack. They were just TOO TASTY and are now banned from my house. They also seemed to make me crave carbs more. They were tasty but I'm better off with real unprocessed foods.

I go back and forth with protein bars. They are really convenient when I am running around in the car or need to have something quick handy, but when I had them daily, they were certainly addictive! I'm trying to limit them to emergencies only.

ACK, it posted my post when I had barely started it.

Anyway, my dear sis-in-law lost her brother-in-law around Christmas time, her mother a couple months later and now her sister who would've turned 50 the day after she died. What a rough time she and her family have had! I will be arranging several flower bouquets today for the funeral, which is tomorrow at 1 pm.

QOTD: I took French in high school and college, but remember very little of it, so English is the only language I speak.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 109, Calories - 1,282, Carbs - 189.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana

L: ham & cheese on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt

D: not sure, going to a family gathering

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

E: walking dogs

Have a wonderful day everyone!

~ Karen

the first post that got cut off led me to think it was the same persons funeral for the 3rd time. I was thinking- wow that's different!! I get it know-- that so much to handle at once- I'm sure tour floral arrangements will be just as beautiful as your water colors!
