Anyone have a recent Gastric Bypass Reversal done 2017 or 2018?

Because reversals are rare, as you probably already know, replies may be few. Thus, her is a small reply: an area woman received a WLS reversal due to a diagnosis of cancer shortly after her surgery (sorry, no details other than that).

Thanks so much for caring enough to respond.

Has your surgeon done many reversals? I will assume you have exhausted every avenue. I hope you got a second opinion, too. Reversals are very dangerous. A friend of mine had one years ago. She is doing well now.

I hope the reversal resolves your issues, whatever they may be.

Hi Laura,

He is a wonderful surgeon and has done multiple revisions and hates to do the reversal but he has tried everything as have I and nothing works. I will not give his name but he is one of the leading surgeons in this field of expertise.

I have already had scar tissue removed around bypass, and a bowel resection and suffering with multiple stomach ulcers that the best medication will not cure. I have had other opinions and they send me back to my Doctor saying he is the best.

I have had to fight malnutrition the whole time as many things will not stay down. I have no energy, and yet the blood work comes back fine, other then a few bouts of low potassium, where I was hospitalized and given treatments. I take all my vitamins, and make sure that the protein that I am getting is the fast absorbing Whey Protein Isolate as well as what will stay in or down.

I am out of solutions and at this point almost 190lbs down, and still losing and have well passed my goal weight. It is a shame to have wasted this 1 1/2 yrs but I am hopeful that I will finally have energy and strength again and be able to exist with out everything I eat causing abdominal pain and nausea.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer back and have a great one.

I sure hope that your reversal goes well and that you are able to return to feeling good and healthy again. It sounds like you have been down a rough road.

Thank you. It does not matter how many surgeries I have I am always apprehensive about being put under and the clear ramifications that can develop afterwards. I feel so bad for my precious husband after yet another bout of nausea and vomiting after 3 small bites of chicken we were on the way to a Kingdom Hall and he said I would take you heavier any day of the week over sad hurting and sickly all the time but thin.

Thank you again for your encouraging words.

Thank you very much I will try and stay abreast of the situation and let others know how it goes and if there are negative side affects as well. No good to anyone if we cannot be honest right?
