Thoughts on bone broth

Just wondering everyone's experience and opinion on bone broth. I met a lady last week that was doing a demonstration and sampling of her homemade bone broth at our local store. She said that it heals our digestive tract and is soothing.

My stomach has not been that happy the past week or so. I feel bloated and gassy. I think that vegetables are the culprit. I am hoping it's not an ulcer starting. I do not have any burning pain, just bloat and a slight ache on my left side. I am considering drinking bone broth for a day or two and giving my digestive tract a break. Its 60 calories a cup and 12 protein, 2 carb.

Bone broth is great, I know lots of people who drink it, both post ops and "normies."

Note bone broth is Collagen protein so good for things like your hair & nails but should not be counted towards your daily protein count.

Veggies can be very gassy, especially depending on what kind of veggie you are eating.

Carbs and sugar also cause terrible gas, not saying you are eating that but just note that they are terrible for causing stomach discomfort, bloating, gas and stinky feces.

I have had chicken flavoured bone broth that I got off Amazon, it was in powder form like a protein powder, I drank it hot and it tasted like the old "Cup-a-Soup" minus the noodles, quite tasty and satisfying.

well, for years grandmas (and others!) gave it to kids who weren't feeling well, so I'm guessing they were on to something! I do think it's soothing - plus easy on our stomachs.

Ha ha so funny this question came up now. I read last week about all the health benefits of bone broth. So I was on vacation last week and went to this organic super market called the The Big Carrot". To expensive for me lol. I bought organic beef bones for soup and made a batch. Very tasty

My opinion on animal meat, especially boiling bones, comes from owning farm animals: quality of animal care varies wildly--- a friendly suggestion to go as far as visiting local farms until you find one you feel comfortable making broth from their animals. Do the animals drink fresh water daily, adequate grass to eat, small herd, clean surroundings, certified meat processor, vet care, etc. No joke.
