What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin'!
I'm meeting a friend for coffee in about an hour, then I have meditation class at 11:30. This afternoon I need to spend about an hour cleaning (my new goal - spending about an hour a day tackling this place. Sounds do-able, and eventually, we'll have a clean house!). I also plan to spend a couple of hours reading through more of the trust documents. Around 5:30, the guy from the kitchen store is coming over to measure my counters. We have it down to three Corian samples, but currently, I hate them all (they were fine yesterday, but I hate them all this morning). One is too light, one looks too "muddy" in certain lights and doesn't offer enough contrast with the wall paint, and one I do like but I think it's too "busy", which is not a good thing in our cluttered kitchen with a patterned floor and lots of colors going on. Plus I messaged my cousin on Saturday who's an interior design professor. She said she'd go for quartz or granite. UGH. Not ugh to quartz or granite, but ugh as in do I need to start back at square one again? I HATE THIS!! I could never build a house. We've done enough remodeling that i know how hard it is to make even minor decisions, or at least it is for me. I've always hired an interior designer who weeds through all the choices and presents me with 3-5, saying "here - any of these will work very well here - just pick one". Even then, deciding is torture! I have no idea how people build an entire house!! (I didn't hire an interior designer for this counter/sink project, but this kitchen guy IS an interior designer...)
QOTD: I don't always set my alarm anymore, but when I do, I set it for 7:00. But I"m always awake between 5:00 and 6:00, so there's really not a need to set an alarm.

I have some deep cleaning projects I need to do and I just chatted out which days I will be spending my hour of cleaning on which project. I like that approach so much better than spending all weekend on chores!

the thing about granite is it's higher maintenance than some of the other choices. Like - you have to seal it every once in awhile. We have some stone in our master bath shower that has to be sealed every 1-2 years and I dread that chore every year. So do I really want to seal my countertops, too? (this is what I've been asking myself). From what I hear, quartz requires much less maintenance. The thing the kitchen guy said is that I'll have a lot of seams with quartz because of some of the weird angles on my countertops. And it'll be more expensive than Corian because of the way they'll have to cut it. But if we're only talking like $200 more, then I really don't care. I'll have him price it out regardless just so I know. Also, the current countertops have seams. I'll ask him if quartz would have any more seams than what I currently have. And if it doesn't, do I care? I don't know. I'll see what he says. I'm glad he's coming over to actually look at the place - maybe actually being here will give him more ideas. Plus I want to see what it would cost to put in a ceramic sink. He said they might have to reinforce my lower cabinets to hold it - but when he's here, he can check. Maybe they won't even have to. I'm just not really crazy about the other sink options he's mentioned...
Good morning JB and Menu crew. I am back from my short time away. I have been doing well, no gains and same old same old. Work has been incredibly busy with many road trips, preparing Ryley for his fiorst semester at college, camping and enjoying the incredible weather this summer. No complaints from this guy about the temperatures.
QOTD - Routine goes like this, alarm at 5:30, I shut it off and get back in bed, Joddie gets up and lets the dog out of Ryleys room and she hops in bed with me, depending how snuggly she is that morning will determine how long I spend in bed.

Good Morning! JB, sorry you had to work all weekend but hopefully it helps the week be a little smoother. We had a great weekend celebrating my hubby's birthday. My sister ended being sick so we had my hubby's friend and wife join us for the escape room. We made it-and had so much fun.
Accountability: Too many unplanned snacks over the weekend. Nothing "off" plan but too much.
QOTD: 2:35....yeah I know it's early (and the :05 makes all the difference!). I am one of the crazy people in the gym parking lot when they open at 4. I get up so early because I do my make-up and a few things in the morning before I leave. Most mornings I am awake before the alarm goes off and hop out of bed around 2:33 to avoid the alarm actually going off and disrupting my hubby.

I love the coconut protein waters. Its so refreshing and a treat.
good morning everyone
This weekend was very nice...the weather was kind of gross but not awful, just prevented us from doing much outdoors. We spent most of Saturday doing regular chores/grocery shopping and yesterday my Mom took me clothes shopping and spent a ton of money I never would've spend on myself. I felt like I was taking advantage of her and kept thanking her over and over, but she assured me that it was something my parents wanted to do for me because they were so proud. It was nice because I have run out of pants that fit me...
I am officially the smallest size i've ever been ( as an adult ). it's very exciting...and 9 lbs away from losing 100. I have decided I will get myself a really nice new hair cut/color/style when I hit that 100lbs lost goal.
QOTD: I am a morning person usually and set my alarm for 6am but sometimes, like this morning, Story wakes up early and I am up by 5:30. (I don't know how you 4am'ers do it!) I don't go to bed late or anything, I just really like to have at least 8 hours sleep to feel well rested.
Morning: coffee w/half caramel PP
B: greek yogurt w/SF cheesecake pudding mix/1 strawberry and 1/3 of a kiwi cut up
L: leftover cheeseburger cauliflower "mac"
S: turkey meat sticks if needed
D: not sure but I need to use up some leftovers!
