I would definitely recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" for ease of use. It was reasonably priced and the 32GB has plenty for room for lots of Kindle books and games and you can watch Netflix on it. Also easy to hold when reclining.

QOTD: I have a MacBook Pro, which I don't use much anymore- too slow and not compatible with most things. My favorite laptop was a Sony Vaio which they don't make anymore, I still have one but it only works when plugged in. I mostly use my desktop that was built for gaming, and I also have a desktop at work. I don't do Apple anymore, not enough memory and no flexibility. I have a Samsung Note 8 phone that I love-gotta have that stylus, a 8" Samsung Tab A that I have with me most of the time. I read most of my books on it. Thank you to the library services here.

I was a little bit off track yesterday but ended up at 1000 calories and a little low in protein. But today is another day, so I'll not beat myself up and be better today.

I started my day with my annual physical with my PCP at 8:10 a.m. All seems to be well. I had blood work done and a Bone Density test. I need to have a Colonoscopy....ugh.

This group saved me a ton of calories and fat. For a long time, I've wanted a biscuit and sausage from McD's, Burger King or whoever. I always talk myself out of it. I know it wouldn't taste as good as I remember. I took a protein bar and that's what I had after my appointment. I was thinking if I posted my menu today I didn't want to post biscuit/sausage. So, you kept me on track.

QOTD: I have a Dell laptop that I purchased in 2012. It needs to be replaced but I have liked it.

Tacos.......a red light food definitely. Every now and then I go to a Mexican restaurant and fully enjoy a couple of tacos or a chimichanga. I can only eat half the chimi but it's really bad. I'll be fixing tacos tomorrow or Saturday.

DH didn't go to the ER yesterday. His PCP had him add back 2 meds he had told him to stop taking and told him if his BP did not go down, call his cardiologist. He is going to call the cardiologist this afternoon.

I'm ready to put the 4 sections of the quilt together. All the quilting is done. So hoping I can get it put together this afternoon and get it finished tomorrow.

I bought a small package of pork rinds. Results of follow.

Edited to add menu.

Protein bar

Click shake

Turkey/cheese; pork rinds?????

Greek yogurt

Pork shop; veggies

Hi you guys,

I'm going to have to find myself a new PCP and hopefully a bariatric center up here. I would like to attend a support group now and then, but my old one is definitely now too far away. Does anyone here in North Seattle (I am on Camano Island) know of a good WLS support group relatively nearby? I hope to find one within an hour's drive. Actually, I would like to also find a therapist with WLS-surgery experience up here too, for occasional support as issues may arise.

Yesterday I pulled out an old handbag i hadn't used in 10 years - my red bag which I love is just looking too scuffed and I think it's either time to retire it altogether (sob!), or to find some way to renew the leather where it's looking so tired. But I transferred my stuff to this gorgeous bright dandelion yellow Cole Haan bag I bought back then - it's virtually brand new and so beautifully made. Anyway I forgot to put my wallet in it and went to the grocery store to buy some fish, steak, tea, flowers, and cat food. When checking out, I realized I couldn't pay. The checker just bagged my purchases, took my name and number, and asked me to pay the next time I came in! I was surprised and impressed. I mean, how nice is that?!

QOTD: I use some massive art programs, so prefer a big, growling desktop with a huge monitor or even two. I really want to buy a big Wacom Cintiq next. In fact, I can't wait to get that! Soon I will have to replace my desktop. I am a PC user but have used lots of Macs in school. I resist buying a MAC desktop because I would either have to re-buy my Adobe suite of programs - $$ - or move over to their subscription-based latest. I own the last iteration of their programs before they decided to go to the subscription model. As a consumer, I actually hate the basic idea of buying into the subscription model and far prefer the eternal license i own. My last laptop died following an accident in the airport. I suppose I should get a new one, but between my desktop, my cheap Amazon tablet and my iPhone 8, I manage pretty well.

first: Two huge mugs of tea!

B: salmon and a little Greek yogurt

L: same as above

D: to be decided - definitely protein forward.

Wishing everyone a lovely day!

I'm with you on the subscription issue. I refuse to buy Office 365, basically you are renting the program. I have Office 2016 on one computer and 2013 on the other. The copy of Office 365 is purchased by work and I need it to access some things, like our Sharepoint but if I didn't have to I wouldn't use it. I want the disc or license key so I don't have to pay for it every year.

Exactly! I'm fortunate in that one of my illustration clients has five Office 365 licenses per year for those who support her, and I qualified for one of those spots so I haven't had to pay for it, thank goodness!
