What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning :)
Today I'm going back to see my midwife -- they offered to help with baby aftercare because I had to transfer to an OB. They are so nice so I'm going they can provide that care. Then I have another Drs appointment to review my latest blood work. My iron continues to drop even with extra supplements.
QOTD: I am a relatively bad hoarder for stuff and food. My mom was a single parent and I often felt like food could be scarce even though it never was. Thank goodness DH is a minimalist. When he moved in all his stuff fit into one mini van load. I have spent a ton of time since we moved to our house getting rid of my stuff to make our house more breathable. I still haven't managed the food issues...
Post-op three years and four months.
Breakfast - protein popsicles
Snack - egg and pickles
Lunch - leftover BBQ meat from a restaurant on the weekend
Snack - dates and almonds
Dinner - sausages (we finally went to the farmers market)
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Good morning! I got in to work, attempted to log in to my system and got the error "you are not entitled to use this system." And about had a panic attack thinking that that was how they fired me. By making me drive in, walk up to my desk, and refusing to let me log in :P it got sorted after 30 minutes on the phone with IT.
Yesterday was my 5 month mark and I completely forgot to take a 5 month photo, so I need to remember to do so after work today. I've been wearing the same outfit in my after pics so I can more easily compare, but I think I chose a bad outfit (graphic T-shirt and jeans) so I'm contemplating breaking my streak of wearing the same shirt.
qotd: I'm also kind of a food hoarder. I think it comes from growing up poor in a family of 6 kids and never quite having enough food to go around. We never went hungry, but we we're also rarely full. It's a whole therapy thing, I know. But I can't strip myself from buying food on sale, even if we don't need it, and even when I have to completely rearrange the freezer to make it all fit. I could probably go a few months without going to the store for more than milk and eggs. Besides food, I also buy way more books than I can fit in my shelves, and art supplies even though I haven't done any drawing or painting in years.
Breakfast: coffee and Premier
lunch: garlic and herb deli chicken and a slice of Swiss cheese on a lettuce wrap with a little cream cheese
snack: Volpi snack--mozzarella and spicy salame

The chicken Florentine burger sounds really good. Im going to look for them next time I'm at Costco.
It sounds like you have a challenge ahead of you JB. Have I mentioned how great retirement is???
Its a steamy day here - I'd love to go to the beach, but we have a full day of classes meeting (yoga in 10 minutes).
QOTD: We definitely hoard food in the pantry and I hoard my own food in a special drawer in the frig. Apparently I need to do even more of that because DS ate my tuna! I hoard clothing too I think...
2 Years, 3.5 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 19.5 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese OR sliced chicken (DS ate most of my tuna - why did he leave one spoonful instead of just finishing it or better yet not touching it!?)
D: Shrimp OR maybe pork (DS defrosted a tenderloin so maybe he is cooking?)
S: Probably yogurt?

Good Morning! JB, good luck today. Those types of conversations are hard and then of course the follow up meetings that sometimes have to happen when someone wants to "test" things out can be worse.
So I found out Friday that I get to travel to Rochester, NY in September for a week-long class for leaders. It is a class that you are invited to by nomination of your managers. I had no idea that they were considering me so it was a nice surprise.

Hey that's great about your surprise trip to Rochester! My mom is from there--it's a great city :) Too bad it's not a little closer for an OH meet up...

Congrats on your selection for the class! That's a nice testament to you and how much they value you!
