Day 5 Post Op Update
So glad you checked in! How is the pain? Are you walking and sipping? Remember SF popsicles count as fluids...yum!
And yes, you will feel tired for many more weeks. Just do things in short bits and then get lots of rest!

Hi Janet :) Pain is sometimes okay and sometimes bad (ab muscles, mostly). Taking meds now less than yesterday and will keep tapering. I am getting up a lot for short times, and liquids are only slightly uncomfortable so I think I'm doing well! Eating sf popsicles like it's my job haha!
thanks for the advice :) I'm not too sad to have to catch up on my Netflix in between walks... having summers off is such a blessing.

Yippee!!! Sounds like you are doing great for Day 5! Also there is no shame in taking pain meds when you need it. Don't wait until it gets bad before you take something. You need to be comfortable enough to heal and move enough to avoid blood clots and to get "things" moving. The worst pain can be gas pain, not incision pain. Walking helps that and I drank hot herbal tea, particularly peppermint, ginger-lemon and fennel, to help with that.

I recall having a very expensive DAY 5 waking up thinking I was dying ($200 ER copay) and I was absolutely fine so you sound GREAT!
It gets easier as time marches on so just keep drinking liquids and getting protein in like its your job and keep your body moving as much as you can. Soon you'll be seeing some very positive scale results. Keep that great attitude going!
Not gonna lie, I almost took myself to the ER yesterday... awful muscle spasm on the left side. I wasn't being smart and was playing the hero who doesn't need pain meds- it backfired!
Glad you ended up being okay minus the $$, and thanks for the kind words.
