What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Scorching day in Missouri. I have the blinds and drapes closed to keep out the heat. I don't like it being so dark but it helps on the electric bill.
So glad all the boys and their coach were rescued. What a miracle!! Those rescuers are heroes.
QOTD: So many to pick from. Kansas City has a tiny house project for veterans and that would be high on my list. My quilt guild will be making twin size quilts for the veterans. Another choice for donation would be St. Jude's.
I made Eggface's granola thinking it would be delicious on my Greek yogurt then discovered I don't have any yogurt. Also made Peanut Butter Cups, a recipe from Unjury.
Speaking of Unjury, their RTD protein is very good and convenient.
My dogs eat the same food day in and day out and like it. They also like people food. The cat is on a special formula for urinary issues. The brand sold by the vet is $47 a bag and according to them, no other brand will work. I found Purina for way less and he loves it and so far no problems. The cat will not eat wet food at all.
Menu:
Coffee w/Big Train
Unjury RTD
Watermelon
Egg salad w/Melba toast
Protein shake
Hamburger steak/green beans

Hello all!
Quick catch up - After the first week of Ramadan I ended up hospitalized for an unrelated medical problem- but that effectively terminated my participation in the fast. In mid June I was able to go on a week long (ten days with travel time) trip to Southeast Asia where I was able to visit Vietnam and Thailand. The street food alone was worth the almost 30 hours of travel time! Due to an ulcer issue I wasn't able to eat more than a few bites at each meal but they were devine! OMG so good!!!!
When I got home I was suffering from a little travel bug and was down about 7 lbs, but 3 of them came back after I had IV fluids LOL! None the less I'm sitting here in a pair of size 0 BR pants (so maybe a size 4 in regular brands?) which feels pretty amazing!!!
If I had a million dollars I'd start the NPO I've always dreamed of which would be a cooperative emergency child care program for single parents when the PARENT is unexpectedly ill. Like a mom who wakes up with the stomach flu or the actual flu - could call the "hotline" and another (vetted background checked) mom would come pick up her kids and care for them while the mom recovers. This would be for single parents who don't have a support network and either are stay at home or too sick to drive the kids to their regular daycare. I wrote up a pretty detailed business plan for this a few decades ago.
