Good morning! Today is the annual Street Fair here, an Arts and Crafts festival which spans all of Main Street. I am meeting SIL and a friend in an hour to go, then meeting more friends at 11:30 at a restaurant downtown for lunch. I don't know what I'll buy, but probably something I didn't know I needed!
QOTD: This is a tough one. We historically have given our major donations to our adoption agency, a youth and family services agency in our former town and a local organization supporting young adults with cancer. I guess we need to add support of our local Alzheimer's organization for the last couple of years. I think at this point it might be the latter because they have made such an impact on the lives of individuals on Cape Cod dealing with Alzheimer's. They use every dollar to its fullest and bring much-needed programs and support to all at no cost to the imdividual (all supported by grants and donations, so those of us who can afford it donate as much as we can).
Accountability: I was mostly on plan yesterday and my weight dropped 1.2 pounds (water, but still good to see).
2 Years, 3 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 19 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Out to lunch with friends (probably Tuna Sashimi or crab cake appetizer)
D: chicken apple sausage (I had one last night - really tasty!)
S: yogurt

I started posts the last two days and didn't finish. Life has been busy.
QOTD: That's a hard one. I think you can't help but have a heart for what you see up close and personal. Part of the organization I chair is a homeless shelter for veterans, as well as peer-to-peer training and support, and finding long term housing for them. We are in the process of renovating three homes for previously homeless veterans and their families. You would think there would be enough money for all these functions but there isn't. This is the one area of our agency that runs on a deficit and relys on fundraising and grants.
B: latte, overnight oats,
L: (at diner) eggs, one slice toast, bacon
D: cod, spinach
S: protein drink, and ????
ex: gym
I hate any nice day I don't have time for my pool. So 10:30PM last night got in and swam 20 laps.
Had to pick my sister and hubby up at JFK airport and take them to my brother's - in rush hour traffic. Took almost 3 hours. I was rewarded with my SIL making this:

Quick post as it's about time to start getting hubby up. He's not a morning person so the 8 o'clock start kills him. Two more days to work at this job site with painting in the works for today. QOTD either PAWS the shelter where we got Lily or Nomads the group we're working with now. No donations go to pay admins--there's only one and she's paid by a separate endowment--all goes out as grants available to the organizations we work for to help with supply costs. Accountability good with 10,225 steps and plank challenge done too--almost 2 minutes. No extra bites. Post op 5 years 10.25 months and weight at 119.2. Heres food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L protein from cafeteria and sm salad if neededD 1 smoked sausage 1/2c grilled zucchini topped with cheese S sm apple with 1 T peanut buttet. Have a great day full of conscious choices everyone! Coffee time!
Good morning all! DW and I made a last minute decision to have a mental health day and spend the afternoon watching a big World Cup game - England and Croatia - on TV. I don't know who to cheer for since both teams are amazing and have done better than expected. Whoever wins will be playing France for the final so it is a big deal.
I went swimming after work yesterday and did 70 minutes of laps. The pool was really busy with noisy kids, but I got a lane to myself and just zoned out. After the heat and stress of the day, it was wonderful. Next week the water aerobics classes start again and I'm trying to decide whether to take M/W Aqua Zumba or T/R Deep Water aerobics. I like each for different reasons and for different exercises. I'm considering whether to do both but that would mean class every evening and that's alot since I don't want to give up my lap swimming.
QOTD: It would be really hard to decide on ONE. We give to two animal groups where we have adopted our babies. We also give regularly and visit the Accokeek Foundation's National Farm, which is right across the Potomac River from Washington's Mt. Vernon. They do such great work doing historical programs, sustainable agriculture and educational programs for kids. I probably would choose Accokeek, but helping animals is so important to me that it would be hard to not give to them as well.
Menu:
Breakfast: I splurged and had a blueberry waffle this morning and my usual ham
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, chomps, blueberries
Lunch: I'm like to go out to eat and get a cup of Harisa soup and half a hamburger
Snack: turkey breast, apple, almonds
Dinner: pot roast
Exercise: swimming
