Bariatric Vitamins
I made the mistake of going overboard with the vitamins and at my one month check-up I asked "how do people possibly take 7 pills and not feel sick" and he said "why didn't you get the whole bariatric vitamin that has all the vitamins in 1 pill!?" and boy did I feel dumb but SO relieved. So, here is my question: Does anyone have this all-in-one bariatric vitamin? (Post Op). I am looking for suggestions. I can do a chewable but I hate them so much. Let me hear your suggestions!
I would be very wary of a " 1 per day" all inclusive vitamin.
I believe we should be doing about 1500 mg of calcium per day minimum and we can't really absorb more than 500 mg per dose every two hours so that's a big red flag for me.
There are many many vitamin gurus in here so I think you'll get more responses tomorrow
I take them and I actually like them. It's bariatric advantage. I take one multi vitamin and one calcium twice a day and I'm all good. No need to take anything else. Mine are like starburst, so like my daily candies!

Thank you for your reply. I am really young and I was just trying to do what I needed to do to be the healthiest I can be. But it is just hard to take 5 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 1 at night. It is hardest in the morning, because it makes me feel sick to have that many vitamins in my stomach along with the gallstone, acid reflux, and nausea medications. I had my surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, and one of my surgeons who I met with at my 2 week appointment suggested I do the single multi-vitamin that contains everything I need in 1 pill instead of 5 and I really liked that idea. I don't know anyone who has had this surgery so this site was my best hope. Let me know if you have any more suggestions!
Which type are you taking? I take BA vitamins and they are 3 capsules a day (plus 3 calcium chews spaced at least 2 hours from capsules which have iron).

Hey Liz. So this is what I'm taking. One calcium and one multi in am and the same in pm. After the first 3 months I was told I don't need to take the iron one, somehow I'm not having malabsorption. So I don't need to separate my calcium from my vitamin.

Thanks Sheila! I know I need another calcium (I am osteopenia). I'll look into the vitamin chews.

I just looked it up. I do need the iron so need to keep taking what I have. It looks like the vitamin has calcium as well which I guess is why you only need two extra calcium chews.
