Heres the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L protein from cafeteria small salad D 4 oz baked cod 1/4 c coleslaw S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day full of smart choices!
Good morning! I've been AWOL for a week or so as I was on vacation. I don't typically get ahold of the laptop at home (and I don't like typing on my phone) so I've been offline here but I'm back! I had a very busy past couple of weeks, helping my sister move, my parents move, a buddy move a few hours at a time (his is a big job), and fixing my father-in-law's flooring in his house. My brother-in-law and I removed the furniture, baseboard, interlocking flooring, numbered it for reinstallation, found that the subfloor was rotted out and had carpenter ants, so we killed the nest and cut out the floor, removed the vapour barrier, put in a new one along with 2 layers of glued-and-screwed plywood subfloor, reinstalled the tile, baseboards and fireplace, and moved the furniture back in. It went extremely well, but the heat wave made it just brutal.
My back was pretty much euchred after that, so I took it easy the last couple of days by helping my buddy move trailer loads of firewood, LOL. My mom said I should brush up on my dictionary reading by looking up "vacation".
Yesterday I took it easy though, and really enjoyed my walk back to work today.
Overall I did really well with accountability. There were a couple pizza slices here and there, but it fills me up so much and so fast that I focused on the meat/cheese toppings. The sauce was awesome though. After those 12 hour days of renos, it was good to just sit in the shade and hydrate.
Today's menu is back to the norm. I did add a snack bag of cherries which my wife found yesterday.
QOTD: While I was lifting the end of my buddy's couch, his mom mistook me for her son-in-law who has a bad back and a hernia. She was hanging off of my arm and shoulder and yelling "no, put that down, Chris" and trying her hardest to tackle me. Even with the weight loss, I'm still probably 80 lbs or so heavier than she is. I was trying to walk up the stairs with a couch and just looked at my buddy and asked what was happening right now. "Dude, what's your mom doing?" She looked at me smiling at her and she absolutely lost her mind laughing. So now I brace myself whenever I see her, and we burst out laughing. Hahaha

Wow!! That is a crazy working vacation - you are good to take care of all your friends and family like that and they must appreciate it tremendously! Hope you get to relax a bit now that vacation is over!

Aw, it's just what ya do. I grew up on the farm in a time (born in the early to mid 70's) where we all helped each other up and down the road, whether it was in the field or building/repairing machinery or barn roofs, just whatever. "Get it done" was the mindset and if you could help, you just did. Usually at the end of the job or the end of the summer, there was a pig/corn roast or something for all of the families to gather and have a good day in the shade. The neighbour made home-made ice cream that blew any store-bought stuff out of the water, and she did it around harvest time. You were sunburnt with blistered hands and all sorts of scratches, scrapes and aches but it was sooooo worth it. It was a great way to learn work ethic.
I'm back to work now for a couple of weeks, then off for 1, back for 1, off for 2, and that'll be it until Christmas vacation. Next vacation I'm literally doing nothing as I head north to a cabin with a dock and a little boat with my whole family. I can't wait!

Good morning :)
Not much happening today - doctor's appointment and probably picking up a few groceries. I totally overdid it on Saturday. We went and ran errands, then I cleaned the dog bed and an area rug, then our friends brought their puppy over for a play date and dinner, and then we did some yard work. Sunday I napped twice and that was all I was up for. Hopefully lesson learned.
QOTD: I hope I can explain why this is funny... I saw a clip online where Harrison Ford and Adam Driver from Star Wars are giving an interview. HF tries to tell a knock knock joke but instead of AD saying "who's there?" he says "come in" totally ruining HF's joke. So my DH hasn't seen the new Star Wars movies and I'm trying to explain who the people are and their characters in the movie, and then why it's funny. By the end I was almost rolling on the floor laughing because for some reason having to explain it and all that just absolutely killed me. DH just kind of stared at me blankly. He really needs to watch those movies...
Post-op three years and four months.
Breakfast - protein shake with blueberries
Snack - dates and almonds
Lunch - leftover burger
