is there a way to do some food prep ahead of time so when you get back from the pool you can just heat up the food and eat? my DH doesn't eat the same as me- but eats the meat and I just make a carb side for him and sometimes he will eat the veg I prepare...

Unfortunately, DW i**** or miss about meat. She will say that she is hungry for something and I will buy it and make it. We sit down to eat and she has one bite and can't stomach it or is hungry for something else. Cooking for her has become a real problem. As for doing food prep ahead of time, I did really well with it for a while, but I've fallen off and need to get back in the habit!

I've been looking forward to doing that walk since I had PS. I only got it in once since winter. It is a lovely walk and I even saw 5 deer this time. It is this nice oasis in the middle of city and suburbia...but you can almost forget!

Food with the hubs was tough at first, a lot like you described with the hit or miss in pleasing. Lately we have really found our food groove. I love to cook, but not everyday - especially after a long day of work/commute. We usually cook/BBQ extra meat for leftovers and always make sure we have something in there we both like. Like Hilary, I will make a carb side for him and veg we both like. I love eggs -like all the time- and he's not as big of a fan, so I make sure he has stuff he can do solo. Hopefully you'll find your groove too!

Very rarely do my wife and I eat the same thing. She is a vegetarian who loves vegetables. I am a carnivore. I can't imagine trying to figure out a meal we'd both like on any kind of regular basis.

That's part of the problem with us. DW has been vegetarian on and off for many years, but still get hungry for meat sometimes. That's when I cook a nice meal with meat and she will look at it and her stomach refuses to "accept" it. She always apologizes, but it means that we end up throwing alot of food away, which is frustrating.

I would be inclined to let her cook her own meals.

Vegetarian chili is a meal everybody likes. For my son it is an opportunity for excessive Frito consumption.

I mostly eat meat in a bowl with mustard and greek yogurt.
