Morning! Everyone must be sleeping in. I?ve been out on my run and am eating breakfast. Today we?ll head to Wildwood, NJ at the request of my soon to be 14 year old for his birthday. Just Spending the night but I?m sure they?ll be lot of activity.

yesterday?s cook out I went to was great. A few folks from work were there and they all carried on about how great of a job I do for them- that felt good. Also- there were quiet a few women who were bald- which made me feel comfortable since I?m never sure how I?ll be received by others. This was a more mature crowd anyway? so I?m sure that had lots to do with it

qotd: I?ve been thinking a lot about how I ate pre op. Breakfast today pre-op would have been 2 eggs, with a meat side and 4 pancakes. (Washed down with a huge cup of Orange juice) So tell us a meal you ate pre-op routinely, that you couldn?t fathom now.

215 today, 3.2 years out

m1: 1 egg, 2oz ham, 1 pancake

m2: Greek yogurt& berries

m3-4: ?? We?ll be out and about but I?ll make good choices!!

Edited to fix typos and round out my pre-op meal

I never considered coffee cake or danishes breakfast-- they were the 'dessert' to breakfast :-)

Good morning menu friends! Thanks for starting us out peachpie as I hoped to post before we left for church. Lily and I got up at 530 and already have our 4 miles done. We'll do a couple more this evening. Accountability was great with12,490 steps and no extra bites. Menu was changed as hubby and I went out to eat and walked so we got exercise on the way. Had some delicious grilled salmon. QOTD breakfast would have been 2 eggs 3 strips of bacon and some biscuit and gravy. Oh my! No wonder I needed surgery! Post op 5 years 10.25 months and weight at 119 today. Heres the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L out to eat but some sort of protein D 4 oz grilled salmon leftovers 1/2 c grilled zucchini S hummus with cucumber slices. Have a great day all and make some smart choices!

A few months back I had the chance to "try" biscuits and gravy. After 3 bites I felt that heavy-ness that is my sign. I about fell over when I logged it in to MFP and saw what a full serving was in Calories and Carbs

I grew up with biscuits & gravy nearly every Saturday morning. They are a staple in the mid-west. Of course, they were always homemade biscuits. Never did a canned biscuit hit our table for breakfast.

I like them, but not a red light food and now that I've had WLS, they don't appeal to me at all.

they're not that common in the northern Midwest (I live in Wisconsin). You can occasionally find them on menus, but they're not a staple up this way. They were super common when I lived in the southeast, though (NC). Must be most popular in that band that goes across the middle (as well as in the South, of course...). I always considered them a Southern staple, but from what you said, they are in Missouri, too.

And in south central Illinois too!

maybe the southern part of the Midwest in general, then? I used to live in northern Ohio, and they weren't very common there, either. Missouri is sort of a bordering state - and of course, southern Illinois is right next to it..

My mom used to take the canned biscuits, deep fry them, and roll them in cinnamon sugar. Even long before WLS, I would cringe thinking about them. So unhealthy.
