Mornin' All!
I ended up spending most of the afternoon yesterday making bimimbap (it's a recipe I'm testing for an upcoming cookbook - I used to test recipes a lot before surgery but just started up again - I purposely picked ones that would be OK to eat!). It was good but really labor intensive - not sure I'd make it again. I think it's worth the $10-15 to just to go to a restaurant and have it there! Lots of stuff to do today, but nothing of particular interest..
QOTD: I remember having to stand in a corner in 2nd grade for talking too much. I was the most obedient student ever (at least at that age) and was absolutely humiliated!! I think I spent the whole day and evening in tears. I also remember being in junior high around the time Roe v Wade was passed and some kid was passing around a book full of graphic photos of aborted fetuses (I swear - some of those fetuses looked like they were two years old - definitely not the normal eight-week-old embryo!). Anyway, I was caught with it in Spanish class. The teacher just took it away and gave me dirty looks. But I was so afraid I was going to get in big trouble (now I'm wondering why I thought I was going to get into trouble - other than taking the book away, what would they actually punish me for??)

B: homemade Greek yogurt with raspberries and hickory nuts (those nuts were great but so high in calories - ugh!! At least they've stuffed me to the gills - for now, anyway. But it'll be light eating the rest of the day...)
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: bimimbap (meat and veggies only)
AS: hopefully I won't need one - but if so, a L&F yogurt

Missed posting yesterday, the day got away from me. Hope everybody had a great 4th. We enjoyed our day off and had a blast at the parade. I got pulled in to be the band conductor for a total of 45 seconds and DH filmed it. I was laughing too much for my own good. A year ago I would have been too embarrassed to play along and "show myself" this way.
We are leaving tomorrow for a two day river rafting trip, to include a night of camping. It will be on American River; middle fork (the harder part), and lower fork. I am so excited. DH and I did the lower fork before we had kids. Looking at their forms, the max weight allowed is 260. A year ago I couldn't have done it at 261, not that I would have wanted to do it. So that's another NSV for me!
QOTD: I was a boring law abiding student. Went to an all girls catholic school (run by nuns) from kinder to sr year. The only tiny transgression I can recall is when one of the sisters stopped me because my uniform was shorter than regulation. She cut the hem right then and there with the handy scissors she was carrying in her deep pockets. I was always fascinated by the nuns pockets. They were like magicians...stuff kept coming out of their pockets...stuff you didn't expect a nun carrying in her pocket on a regular basis.

The pics are from the 4th. The first one is me when the conductor pulled me into the parade. If you look closely you can see my family laughing in the background. DD with her hand on her mouth (the conductor wanted her first, but she refused to go...I was second choice! LOL), DS looking at DD as in "can you believe this?" And DH looking on with a huge grin. The rest are at night time and our beach looking like a war zone with all the bon fires.
