What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin'!
here I am, late again. We had a very sick cat this morning, and then I went to Yogalates, and now we're out for coffee (DH took the day off) (the kitty has IBD, so we do have days like this occasionally - we gave her ondansetron, and mirtazapine, and a dose of prednisone even though it's her day off (she gets pred every other day) - hopefully she'll be a lot better by this afternoon....)
4th was fine - a little high on calories, but not too bad. No crap food, either.
QOTD: Jeopardy. Having been a reference librarian for years, and loving trivia in general, that would definitely be my speed - but if I was on there, they'd almost certainly have categories I have no clue about - like sports, for example. I'd look like an idiot!
3 years out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with blueberries and a nectarine
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: half a tuna salad wrap (wrap being a Flat Out wrap), maybe a L&F yogurt (I was going to put strawberries, but that would make for a very fruit-heavy day...)
AS: yogurt or cheese stick
D: I'm testing a bibimbap recipe for an upcoming cookbook - so that. I'm going to try to pick all the pork and veggies off the rice, though...
ex: Yogalates
OMGeee guys. this week has been insane.
My co-worker is out all week but I was only informed that she was going to be out Mon and Tues so I kept putting off other stuff I could work on when I was back at my desk today...then about 2 hours after I got here, was working on my stuff and noticed nobody was answering incoming calls and voicemails were piling up...low and behold my manager forgot to tell me and nobody updated the PTO calendar...so here I am being crazy stressed again today trying to keep up with it all...
there's a short break right now so I'm taking advantage to post here! but that's why I was MIA the rest of the week!
My B-day weekend was great and full of action. Friday was our town's fireworks so we walked the mile to the park with Story in the wagon and walked back after- good exercise but it was HOT.
Saturday we went to the pool at the community center and swam for a few hours to cool off and then on Sunday we had a family day at the beach with my parents/siblings and their families...then we all went out to lunch after. I ordered what I thought was the safest thing on the menu- a bowl of chili, but it ended up making me feel super sick about 30 mins later- not sure if I ate too much being unable to measure, or if it might've had sugar in it...but as soon as we got home, I was happy Story was exhausted from swimming and wanted a nap--and I took one too! for about 3 1/2 hours! LOL...ugh. I guess next time the safer route would be a hot dog without the bun.
Yesterday DH and I both had the day off and we spent a lot of time thrift shopping. All the thrift shops we went to were having huge 50% off everything sales so we ended up getting a bunch of clothes. DH has already lost 3 sizes and none of his clothes fit. he ended up getting 2 pairs of dress pants, a pair of shorts, 3 dress shirts and 2 tee shirts for about $25...I got a super cute dress (I'm wearing today), 3 tops, a skirt, a pair of shorts and a cardigan/shrug for less than $20. It was definitely worth the day of shopping.
QOTD: I am dying to be on Family Feud. I have always loved that show no matter who hosted it and I want to be on it so badly!! My family would be a riot. I'd like to be on wheel of fortune too...especially a couples edition. DH is awesome at it, and so is my mom...I'd have a hard time choosing which of them to partner with!
Morning: Coffee w/half caramel PP
B: HB egg w/1/4 c cottage cheese and chives
L: Shrimp fried cauliflower rice w/peas & carrots
S: Greek L&F yogurt
D: sausage egg roll in a bowl
hope everyone's day is less stressful than mine but I am glad there's only one day left this week!

Hello Menu friends! Happy Fifth of July!
I had a fantastic time yesterday - first I went to an adorable very small-town parade in the beachy little town just off the bridge to the island, then I went to a big party in Seattle and met lots of extremely nice people. There was an absolute groaning board of food that just kept coming and coming! I hadn't eaten beforehand yesterday due to very rushed scheduling early in the day, a mistake, so I was very hungry by around 7 PM when the hamburgers, salmon, etc. were ready. I just kept putting things on my plate - a bunless burger, ribs, bbq chicken, and salmon. Then I realized I had taken way, way more food than I could possibly eat. Talk about your eyes being bigger than your stomach! I only managed to eat half of the salmon before I was full to my eyeballs. So I took the rest home and have had some so far for both breakfast and lunch. The fireworks were fantastic! I love fireworks so much. The party was at a house on a long, straight hill, at the bottom of which was a lake from which the pyrotechnics were launched. So we could see everything perfectly without trecking down - and then back up - the very long hill. I was wearing these very pretty but very high wedge shoes which really were not made for extensive walking. In fact helping clean up involved lots of stairs from the deck to the courtyard and back up again, over and over, to the point that I am nursing blisters from those cute shoes. Next time I'm wearing flats for sure! But I had an amazing time regardless. Another cool thing is that all the way home despite it being around midnight, gorgeous fireworks were going off all around the highway. Some were even set off on an overpass we drove under! this may not have been the safest but it was thrillingly pretty! Talk about dazzling! I love the 4th of July!
QOTD: I really enjoy Jeopardy but am only really competitive in a few rarely visited, arcane categories, and so would undoubtedly go down in flames as a contestant!
First: Tea, tea, tea!
B: Salmon
L: Salmon and a bite of ribs
D: tuna
S: if necessary I'll have some of that leftover burger.
Have a beautiful day!
Happy Friday-eve everyone! Two more sleeps in the old place, tomorrow will be disassembling of beds and any prep we can do before we get the truck Saturday. Eating had been pretty good, typically adding a protein bar or protein cake bites in the evening but I still haven't had almonds- even passed on adding them to the strawberry salad I have gotten from Wendy's (which the 1/2 is perfect!). Thank you all again for being patient as I'm prett much MIA- miss catching up with all you have going on.

So close! Can't wait to see your smiling faces after you are all moved in :)
So exciting to almost be in the new house! And you are doing great with the almonds (being busy is good isn't it?).
