8 years post op with new issues!
Okay, I had an open RNY back in 2009. I had no complications, very few restrictions, and lost the weight quickly. After that I was blessed to experience 3 healthy pregnancies and successful C-sections with no apparent changes to foods I could tolerate. The pregnancies did cause a bit of unwanted weight gain but nothing I couldn't handle. This past February I underwent a robotic hysterectomy and immediately noticed I was having trouble tolerating foods that I had no previous issues with and it has only gotten worse since. Every time I eat anything solid it gets stuck and I have no other option but to purge. Sometimes I'll eat and feel fine for about an hour and suddenly that stuck feeling hits me almost as if the food somehow slipped up and out of my pouch. At this point I'm basically on full liquids again, I have an appointment with my surgeon but I wanted to know if anyone else had these kind of issues. I can't help but think it could have something to do with the robotic hysterectomy, maybe they shifted my organs and caused my pouch to become crowded but that's just a guess. All my previous surgeries were open. Anyone else experience something like this??
Sorry you are going through this. Hopefully the surgeon will schedule you for an endoscopy. I did have a robotic hysterectomy but it was pre-WLS.
With eating I would say think like you did early on- Make sure really moist food, small bites chew well.
My other thought is that you are having acid issues. My acid symptoms are non-traditional not heartburn necessarily but when I realize none of my food wants to stay down I know it's my acid.

Constipation can cause that in me. Severe constipation.
I had a hernias' surgery app 2 months ago. I feel more restrictions since then. No reason, except they also checked my small intestine and previous hernias' sites that were fixed a few years back (that was my 4th and hopefully final) hernias' surgery.
It may be the effect of anesthesia, or other issues. I am glad you going to see a doc for that. That far away - stricture is rather unlikely, but still it may be a possibility.
