Good morning :)
I hibernated basically all weekend... By Sunday I wished it was just a bit cooler so I could at least have gone out with the puppies. I'm not looking forward to having to go out this week. Today I have an ultrasound - they will now be weekly until the end. I think DH kind of freaked out this weekend - his words were, we're kind of running out of weekends aren't we. Lol. So, we assembled the car seat and stroller, swing, and playpen. Yesterday he said, so, do you want to do baby stuff today? Lol. We basically finished the baby room. Just need to put away a few things that I washed. So I guess it was good that it was hot ;)
QOTD: the first book that popped into my mind was the Zero Waste Home. We aren't zero waste but the book encouraged me to make a lot of changes - big and small - to reduce our foot print as much as possible. Zero waste uses the five Rs (instead of the three I learned in elementary school) - refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot. Refuse means not taking things like freebies and samples that you don't really need that clutter your house. Rot includes our backyard compost and our municipal green bin program. It did not take much to start decreasing the amount of garbage hitting our curb.
Post-op three years and three months.
Breakfast - protein shake with banana
Snack - cheese whisps and crackers
Lunch - maybe a protein bar if I'm still out and about
Snack - Greek yogurt and oatmeal bites
Dinner - leftover pork roast
Snack - pudding and cherries
All water and vits.

I have been starting to feel incredibly guilty about my Amazon Prime habits in terms of the waste. I really need to reexamine my relationship to getting stuff shipped on demand because it is really terrible to see so many boxes come to the house--even if we are vigilant recyclers...
We love Amazon too -- one small plus for me is that not as much is available from the Canadian site and I hate paying for shipping from other places lol. Shipping and packaging is so difficult to deal with in terms of trying to go zero waste. I filled our little garbage pail and recycling bin (our smaller inside ones) just taking the packaging off the stuff we got at the baby shower. It took me close to an hour to remove tags, clips, bags, hangers, and paper/cardboard. Even though I'm diligent about sorting it it still seemed very wasteful.
