What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning :)
With yesterday being Canada day today is the stat holiday. DH is home from work and we have been knocking out little last minute projects. We are also having a heat wave so I'm staying inside as much as possible. No real plans for today as everything is basically closed around here.
QOTD: in high school I worked one summer in a non-air conditioned sock factory. I was not prepared for the heat or the long hours. I remember coming home and sitting on the couch just totally done. Every time my mom walked by she would laugh and say I was sinking deeper into the couch. That job was a good learning experience, especially at that age.
Post-op three years and three months.
Breakfast - protein shake with banana
Snack - cheese whisps and crackers
Lunch - I actually don't know... Tbd
Snack - Greek yogurt and oatmeal bites
Dinner - leftover pork roast
Snack - pudding and cherries
All water and vits.

Good morning everyone! I'm off today which means I'm only calling in for one conference call. Not sure if that means I'm committed or controlling (actually I know very well which one it is, lol). But I'll spend the rest of the day visiting with some dear friends and I am so excited about that!
QOTD - my company bought a company in Latin America and sent me down to Miami for two years to integrate it; the first day, the deal didn't close until noon but they wanted me on site all day even though I couldn't talk to anyone until it closed. So I sat in the VP I was working with the most (who had gone to Spain for a month) with everyone waking now by and looking at me like I was at age zoo animal. At about 2, the receptionist came in with a little styrofoam cup and a bunch of medicine cups and asked "do you want some?" I had no idea what it was but I KNEW it was a pass fail test -- so I said yes. And that's how I learned about the community built around sharing a Colada and the amazing sugar-espresso combination of a true Cuban coffee! I would probably die if I had one now, but oh it was incredible!
Menu - it's coming out a bit high on calories but it's probably pretty spot on for the social day, so I'll just have to rein it in once I get home tomorrow.
b - egg with cheese and a sausage patty
l - premiere and coffee
d - small cheeseburger

Good Morning Everyone,
Good Luck JB, im sorry about your lunch! Hoping that's the only down side of today for you!
I'm back from moving my daughter out to Tulsa to start her first year of residency at St. Francis hospital. Last week was rough for food but I did ok. I'm up a couple of pounds and then traveling to help my sister this week. I'm trying to stay strong so that when I get back next week I'm not dealing with even more to lose.
QOTD: when I started my job at the high school I current teach at 19 years ago the superintendent and principal called me aside at the opening day for teachers about 5 minutes before the start of the ceremony and told me it was customary for the high school choral direct to sing the National Anthem for the entire district at the opening. I literally had about 3 minutes to warm up and sing. Eek! But I've gotten smart, now I have students come and do it! Easier on me and much more appropriate for everyone else.
B: coffee and premiere protein

When I was popping them like candy, yes. They really add up! I had to quit because the sugar alcohols, I can't tolerate even a tiny bit anymore.

I am loving my new Fitbit versa for waking up in the morning! It vibrates rather than makes noise so I don't feel like I am being startled awake. I could get to be a morning person at this rate.... probably not.
Qotd: Oh.... as a former nanny I have some interesting ones. But the absolute most memorable first day was when I nannied for a set of twins. There had been so many red flags in the interviews but I ignored them cause the girls were super sweet. Their mother though... she was downright abusive to me. I made excuses for her that first morning telling myself it was a cultural thing. It was not. By the afternoon I knew I had made a huge mistake. She would say nasty things about my weight, my teeth, etc. but it was all okay, because I at least I was a Libra. I stayed 2 months then was outta there!
Accountability: yesterday was good, not as much water as I would have liked, and I decided to take the day off instead of using the treadmill.

MS: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 babybel

Hi there! I'd like to know more about your "pro granola" - which I'm thinking is protein granola? You're about a month ahead of me, and I'm watching menus for ideas on things I might be able to add in once I move past soft foods in a few weeks.
