hi all-

im in crunch mode- i have an advance HR exam on july 13 and starting to freak out - trying to get the rest of the material covered and studied 3 hours at least on both days this weekend. I also got in my workouts in so super productive. cant wait until after this exam is over, want to actually read a book for pleasure (though I am listening ot the anthony bourdain one on audible now for car rides) but an actual book that you hold in your hands would be so nice.

Ate fairly well except I did have indian food friday- that was quite the splurge for me and it had been since may that I had had any. I did have rice and curry and one of those amazing ball of sweetness. it was yummy to the tummy. The rest of the weekend was pretty darn good and the scale rewarded me by going up 2 pounds? seriously. so now I weight more than I ever have BUT I've lost 9.75 inches since may- have to trust this process of re composition but it is hard and the scale going up scares me.

QOTD: hmmm I worked at eckerd drug and the photo lab manager would say really inappropriate things and show me pics of nudie people in pics. I was 15-16 at the time. gross

Food plan for today

coffee/mct

protein pancakes

leftover backed chicken

not sure on dinner- yoga at 5 PM at the gym so want to make that

Good morning friends... Good luck today JB you will do great...

To quote my favorite news personalities favorite tag line "let's get after it".

I have been a little absent lately a lot going on at work... Again I have been putting them first. My husband put his foot down the other day and said no more.... You need to concentrate on you more they are taking advantage of you and I am sick of it. My boss called the house Saturday morning (which was my birthday) and my husband said to him "unless you are calling to wish Penny a happy birthday which I know you are not you are not talking to her so you can write down why you need her and you will see her Monday." and hung up on him... That is so not my husband I was like oh ok. Then he took me shopping! Bought me a pair of boots for my trip to Nashville and tried to buy me a Coach purse it was 70% off and beautiful but I can think of lots of other things I would rather do with that money.

QOTD: I got nothing right now.

Food for the day:

B: Coffee and just crack and egg breakfast scramble

L: Chef Salad

D: Ham and cheese roll ups

Well... Off to a meeting! Have a great one friends.

Happy Birthday, and I love that your husband drew a line on their bothering you outside of working hours like that!

Happy belated birthday! It does sound like DH has your best interests at heart, but probably best that you give the message to your boss rather than DH (though my DH could have done that in the past too)?

just a quickie since I need to finish up with morning stuff and then head out for my LAST DAY OF WORK!! (I hope - may need to go in tomorrow if I don't get everything done today, but I would stay it's very unlikely I won't be able to get through everything today...)

accountability was good yesterday. I was calorie-heavy before dinner, but I managed not to eat anything last night (other than a small dinner), so I came in within my calorie range. Plus did an hour of Aqua Zumba to boot. Woo hoo!

QOTD: I remember on my most recent first day (16+ years ago with my current employer) I had some really mixed feelings, even though I hated my previous job (or at least the environment - the job per se was OK) and I was SO HAPPY to be back at the university. But the change in routine was tough - different responsibilities, different office, different employer, different boss, different staff. The last four things were a vast improvement from where I came from, but still, the change was hard. Change had never been hard for me before. I chalked it up to old age, even though I was only in my early forties. HA! I got over it pretty quickly, though - and it turned out to be a great decision. I've been very happy there...

3 years out:

B: cottage cheese with strawberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake

L: Egg McMuffin (I know I know - but my office fridge is gone and I'm planning to go to meditation class over the noon hour. Figured there are worse choices than an Egg McMuffin (that I can pick up at the drive-thru on the way to the yoga studio). Otherwise, I do have a couple of protein bars with me....) (although actually, the innards of an Egg McMuffin are actually a GREAT choice - but hard to eat in the car...)

D: I have a meeting at 6:30 - and DH usually doesn't get home until 6:30 or 7:00, so I may just make a Caprese salad
