Morning weekenders!

we had a great day yesterday. There was a bit of rain, but it got out out he way before we wanted to do anything outdoors.

I am not sure what is in store today. My in laws have a funeral to attend, and it sounds like mass as well this morning. So I'll get brunch sorted for them to eat between services.

then, who knows!

qotd: what was your most memorable Canada day or Fourth of July?

one of my mine was in my late teens/early 20s, we were in Ottawa for the big fireworks and show. There was a crazy downpour of rain, people were starting to leave. Like crazy rain. Couldn't keep your eyes open because it was running in your eyes. The roads were full of water up over our ankles! All of a sudden, there was a break and boom! The show started. I've never seen sooo many people go from miserable to ecstatic so quickly.

The other one was the year we decided at the last minute to pack a picnic and head out to one of the back pastures. We just hung out eating sandwiches and whatever else we could throw together. Younger cousins brought bikes and it was a perfect day.

menu:

B: coffee and whatever I have at brunch, prob more skyr, and fruit and maybe bacon

L/D: not sure, but I see salmon in the fridge.

Take care everyone!

Good morning! Helping our friends move yesterday went smoothly but it did take longer than expected. A lot of their furniture wouldn't fit around the tight corner of their stairwell, so it had to be disassembled first, then reassembled once all the pieces were in the correct rooms. Our friends ordered pizza for everyone who helped. I did eat a few bites of crust before pulling the toppings off of the rest of the slice. Then since it took so long, I didn't get back home early enough to start the crock pot, which was fine because after spending the whole day moving in the hot sticky weather, I had no appetite for dinner anyway and just drank protein water.

qotd: this would have to be the 4th of July of 2015, my husband proposed to me on my favorite holiday! He did it via a Harry Potter Maurader's Map delivered from Hogwarts via "owl." Combining two of my favorite things--HP and the 4th!

Breakfast: I'll have another breakfast sandwich with the egg white wraps. Ham this time.

Lunch: likely a salad with chicken

dinner: the crock pot chicken I didn't make last night.

That is SOOO cool, Cassie! I LOVE Harry Potter! How did he deliver the map via "owl"? Awesome!!! (Remind me sometime to tell you about the Harry Potter themed Birthday party I had for Saralisa one year).

It's a funny story! We celebrate the 4th at my grandparents house. My grandma was Postmaster General at the time (she only just retired a year ago--my grandparents are young since my mom had me young) and she was able to pull some strings. She got another postal worker to drive a mail truck to the house, and hand deliver a stuffed owl with a package tied around its neck. The package was a snitch that opened and the ring was inside, and the letter was a Maurader's Map that said "Cassandra, will you marry me?"

The funny part is, I was SO confused that someone would be delivering mail on the 4th to ME at my GRANDPARENTS HOUSE (how did someone get this address?? How did they know I was here?? Why is the USPS delivering?!?) that I almost ruined the happy moment.

My ring hasn't fit since 2 months ago. Jeremy wears his around his neck, but my wedding band is U shaped and not soldered to the engagement piece yet, so I'm going to wait til I'm at goal to have it soldered and resized. But I miss wearing it

Happy Sunday!

QOTD: I would guess one of the more memorable July 4th celebrations was one we had at my parents house as opposed to the Cape. My uncle Chris and my brother managed to set fire to the lawn and some roof shingles simultaneously...

Since it is winter and we have vile, cold rain with an Antarctic blast...it is likely to not be a major celebration here. I might make some burgers and fries for the boys.

I was well behaved for the most part. I forgot my morning meds again. I get too distracted when I sub in at the shop, I will have to set an alert so I don't forget.

B: coffee, protein water/benefibre, chicken salad with a couple grape tomatoes

L: 1.5 meatballs leftover from yesterday, more protein water

AT: ¼ Justine's protein Brownie, herbal tea

D: homemade Chicken Gumbo (I don't add rice. The boys serve it on rice), herbal tea

Dessert: ½ of that darned brownie. I gave the other ¼ to my hubby to try

I didn't go over the calories and my intake was 60% protein, so not horrible.

Water/fluids 1.8 litres, Vitamins, exercise was not happening today it will be tomorrow

have a great rest of the weekend!

Have fun,

Erin! I miss connecting with you!

Accountability: I am day three into a week of houseguests that I adore... but with children around there are a lot of snack foods and with adults - adult beverages. I will gain 10lbs while they are here if I don't reign it in.

QOTD: neighbors always had block 4th BBQ with fireworks when my son was growing up.

Current Status - morning coffee by the pool and sounds of silence.

Funny meme I saw yesterday. Just a note: God created humor, no irreverence intended.
