Another B12 Question -- need guidance

I'm 18 months post-op, my Bariatric doc doesn't practice anymore. I've been suffering with a long list of issues and finally went to my PCP. After endless blood tests I discovered my B12 is 253. PCP doesn't know how to treat me and other Bariatric docs have no interest in seeing me. This is easy to treat (a lot more B12) now that I know what's going on but I don't know how much I need right now to get me to maintenance level. I have been taking 1,250 mcg orally daily. This obviously isn't working for me. What would you recommend for a B12 shot regimen to get me to my target B12 level of 1,000? I'll also start taking sublingual B12, what do you think is appropriate? I realize you aren't doctors but I don't have a doctor to help me and I need your feedback to create my own treatment plan. This will be no surprise but I want my levels to rise as quickly as possible for obvious reasons. Your feedback is so much appreciated, I'm desperate, sick and don't know where else to go.

This did the trick for me -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K5NEPJY/

I did one spray a day, but you could do two and still be well below any toxic level.

And, um, how does a regular PCP not know how to deal with b12 deficiency? It's seriously one of the easiest deficiencies to fix. Maybe it would be good to find another doctor? Depending on where you live, there might be bariatric support groups and I found my current PCP by asking for recommendations on the Facebook group of the local bariatric support group - I didn't have to be a patient with the same surgeon, but they could point me in the right direction of PCPs in my area who have a clue :)

I'm no docotor but I'm under my Bariatric Dr and NP's supervision. I take bariatric advantage multi vitamin. I looked it up and it has 1000 mcg B12. I take it twice a day so I end up with 2000 mcg of B12. I would guess that's what you need to shoot for.

I'm a year post op, just did all my lab works and my B12 is spot on.

I have also heard the sublingual ones are the best to be absorbed.

Good luck!

If your B12 is in a pill it really won't do you much good.

You need sublingual or shots for absorption.

I have never had a B12 problem. I've been taking Trader Joe's brand Sublingual B12. NOT the one with folic acid added. It dissolves quickly under the tongue. And it's cheap.

you have to do a sublingual or an injection. We don't absorb regular oral B12. That is likely a big part of your problem. B12 levels supposedly aren't that hard to bring up, so now that you're doing a sublingual, it may start heading up...

My program calls for a monthly shot for the first 12 months and then daily sublingual for life. Good luck finding a resource to help!!
