hahah funny- and very very true- mine wanted protein bars last night. I cooked the ahi tuna in the saute pan and it was sooo good. had on a bed of cooked spinach with this onion salsa type thing. made DH mac and cheese. Then after the gym i came back to the power out! it took several hours to come back on- about 10:30 before we had showers. so the waiting meant protein bars and a few bites of enlightened ice cream because you know the ENTIRE freezer might need to be eaten- lol. BTW- it was called move night and I didn't like it. tastes very fake plus the SA's... Up 1 pound from yesterday!

OK so the big update- and no i didn't get a pic in time. we had a little baby bear outside our fence yesterday afternoon. John was working in the old kitchen and he looked out the window and saw a fuzzy black mass and it was a bear. the interesting thing is eventhough it was poking around, it didn't get NEAr the electric fence... so it has been popped before.

QOTD: no summer traditions but in past July 4- I like to make fresh peach ice cream since we have local peaches here. after all it is the peach state though really that is south carolina- we really should be the peanut state but I digress...

food for today:

coffee/protein powder

egg whites

prot pancakes

not sure on dinner - think we will do sandwiches.

Good morning menu friends! Quick postbefore I head off for more painting. QOTD usually go to see our local fireworks but this year we will see Quincys fireworks I guess. Accountability was good over 10,000 steps and no extra bites. Lily and I did 2.5 miles this morning and will do another 2 at least after it cools down this evening. Because we start work so early and its dark when we'd need to start to do 4 miles we've split our walkup more evenly. Post op 5 years 9.75 months and weight at 119.2 today. Heres the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L whatever protein they serve in the cafeteria and lettuce D 4 oz black and blue burger 1/2 c grilled zucchini S 1 c smartpop popcorn. Have a great day all and make some smart choices everyone.

Morning all! 32nd day of run streak done- 6 more to go. Last day in SC, we head home tomorrow. Today we'll help my parents buy and replace a tv in thier living room. It's an older style with the enormous back and weighs a ton. They have one in thier bedroom too they tried moving it and nearly dropped in on themselves. I've been on her to just replace them both while we're here and my hubby can set them up for them, they relented on one. We'll take the boys to a center to do go carts and I'll do laundry later.

Qotd: the week leading up to I doendence day is 'welcome america' in philly. There are daily activities- ice cream night, reading of the Declaration of Independence, a hoagie fest, nightly Philly-based movies in the parks. All leading up to the concert and fireworks on Ben Franklin parkway on the 4th. I usually try to one or two of the events.

No scale, no weight. 3.2 years out

m1 Greek yogurt with berries

m2-4: up in the air. I'm craving a bagel. I know leftover turkey is in the fridge for dinner. My tummy was not happy with the sweets of yesterday- so I plan to steer clear of them today.

Good morning! Posting late for me today, I had such a terrible time getting up and moving, so when I finally did I had to rush.

i tried to sit at my desk to do some writing last night and realized what a mess I have. I'm dedicating the weekend to cleaning and organizing my home office.

Qotd: 4th of July is a big deal in my family and it's tradition to go to my grandparents where we have a big barbecue, cut up some big watermelons, and gleefully run around the acerage setting things on fire. I already know I will have some watermelon and corn on the cob, and I'm not even going to feel guilty about it. I'm not sure what other traditions we have for summer, but that's one that is a sure thing. We'll never have any other 4th of July plans

Breakfast: coffee and Premier, 2 chicken sausage

snack: Greek L&F

lunch: leftover shepherds pie from dinner (cauliflower mashed "potato" crust)

i brought a snack of Emiepies egg salad, but the shepherds pie is filling enough that I may not eat it

dinner: on my own, so I'll just keep it simple with a salad with some chicken, or a turkey burger patty

Good Morning! Yes, for Friday-Eve. Em comes home tomorrow from her week at camp and I can't wait to hear all about it. We have received a few texts and pics to hold us over-lol.

Accountability: No almonds

QOTD: When I was growing up we camped every year at a lake that's about an hour away. We would go for about a week and a half. No summer traditions as an adult, when Em was little we would go to see fireworks but as she has gotten older we have bought some of the safe/sane ones and did them in the driveway rather than spend sooo many hours in the HOT sun (it's usually over 100 degrees). This year we might BBQ but will be knee deep in moving so who knows what we will decide on.

Time since surgery: 3 years 10 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Krave turkey stick, latte dessert bar and Carbmaster cottage cheese

D: Buddig ham pack, low carb pita, spinach salad (Bleu cheese, pecans and Skinnygirl raspberry vinaigrette dressing) and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1192 Protein:113 Carbs:84 Fat:53

Have a great one!

Good morning. Another great PT session today. I forgot yesterday as part of my answer to QOTD - what am I doing to prepare for a goal - I ordered Runner's World to get me into the running mindset. I just ordered it and the July copy came yesterday. Just part of the mental prep work.

Accountability - OMG terrible. I ate pudding, dark chocolate, nuts... I am going to start doing my core work (homework) each night right after dinner - then right upstairs. I've got to get myself out of this all or nothing evening graze. I'll do it, but I need to practice it and succeed. Here's to getting it done tonight!

QOTD - I have winter events and fall events, but not so much summer. My 500 pound life was to hide from the heat during the summer, so I'll have to find something to make my summer activity. Sounds like a fun hunt? I think so ;)

PWO - Apparently I have to eat before I workout with the trainer or I get a 10 minute lecture. So I had 3/4 tbs of almond butter

B - 2 egg, jalapeno, 1/3 oz cheese, sausage

L - 3 oz turkey meatloaf and small salad

S - 3/4 oz cheese and Ostrim chicken stick

D - Real Food Enchilada, maybe a small salad

NO desert tonight!!!!! or snack

Good morning everyone!

Today is my co-worker's birthday and everyone brought in treats. I made Banana Blueberry muffins from the older blueberries and over ripe bananas nobody was going to eat so it was actually good to put them to use instead of throwing them out. It smelled heavenly in my house last night but I didn't even taste them-Story loved them though, and I made a few mini muffins out of the leftover batter so she ate 2 of them.
Not really tempted by sweets right now. I hope it stays that way for a while at least.

DH and I set up a goal to do a scheduled workout at least 3 days a week M,W,F and I am proud of myself for sticking to it even though I still really hate it. I started at max 20 mins on the elliptical and only getting about .25 miles, and pushed it to 30 last night, to get to 1 mile. It sounds pathetic but compared to where I was, I am happy with my progress! Weekends I am usually out walking around all day so I feel like the workouts are more important for me during the week days when I sit at a desk most of the day.

QOTD: We used to have a huge party every summer at my parents' house, starting from the year I graduated High school (96) up to the summer before last for my dad's brithday. We didn't do it last year because we started a new tradition of having family meet in Galena IL for a weekend (it's in a central location between where we live and most of our family in Iowa)...its a gorgeous little scenic historical town (my sister got married there) and has so much to do and this gives all our kids (several generations of cousins) a chance to get to know each other since many of our cousins have always been pretty close.
We also go see fireworks every year around the 4th-whichever day they do them in our town. this year it will be tomorrow on my birthday!

Morning: Coffee w/half vanilla PP and sugar free blueberry syrup
B: Greek L&F yogurt
L: tuna packet w/1/4c cottage cheese
S: turkey meat stick and light string cheese
D: 2oz turkey ham & cheesy vegetable medley

Have a fantastic day everyone!
