2 weeks post op
Hello,
I'm new so sorry if this sounds dumb.
I read a lot of people that have a hard time eating certain foods and drinking water etc because of the pouch.
I don't feel like I really have any trouble eating things and I'm stunning just fine. Is everything ok? Am I abnormal? Did it come unstapled and not work?
At my 10 day post op I was down 22lbs. The scale is a huge mind game for me, hasnt budged since my recheck. Maybe I'm just paranoid?
Thanks in advance, any and all advice/words of encouragement helpful!

Congratulations on your loss! That's wonderful!
In the very beginning I wasn't feeling restriction either. in fact, that is common. Your nerves have been cut, and your body really is just starting g to heal. You will feel restriction once you get to the point of having dense protein. Take care to progress slowly and only have the amount and types of food your doc says you should have so you do not overstress your pouch and body as you recuperate. take it step by step. Trust me, you will feel your restriction soon enough.
Welcome to the family!
No, you do not sound dumb at all! I had the same experience and was super paranoid as well.
22 pounds is so fantastic! Congratulations. It is a great feeling to finally see that darn scale go down instead of up!!! The scale plays with my mind too. I weigh myself almost every day... which I know is not recommended; but it's what I do. The plateaus are very hard and disappointing and they will come every so often... but guess what? That is completely normal! Your body is just adjusting to the drastic change it is going through. When you break that darn plateau... what a feeling! I am almost 5 months post OP and have lost 73 pounds. To help with the mind games, I take pictures of myself and compare them to what I used to look like. It is really eye opening and is motivating to see your progress.
Sounds to me you are right on track. Not too mention you are on this site! I love this site and all the tips and guidance I have received so far is absolutely amazing.
Keep going, keep your head up and know we are here for you!
Best of luck to you on your journey!
Focus on dense protein (60-80g) and getting as much fluid (work up to at least 100 oz) as you can. For success, keep the carbs to a minimum, probably under 20g or so. Save starchy carbs and even fruit until you are at goal or not at all. Don't worry about the calories as such but with the small portions you should be having at this point, the calories will be low. Measure what you should have and don't eat more even if you don't feel "full" right now.

I'm just over 3 months out so I remember being where you are very clearly! My plan was fluids first, followed closely by protein. You don't need to worry about calories right now Just those two things. It was once I moved on to soft foods that I started also focusing on calories and carbs.

Hello and welcome!
Sounds like you're doing great, keep up the amazing work!
I didn't star****ching calories or carbs until at least a month out, at 2 weeks it's just trying to feel better and get your water in and as much protein as you can.
At 1 month, I started counting my calories, but I would only eat about 300 - 400 a day on my own just from the restriction. Now I count, but I don't really have to do a ton of work to keep my calories under 600 a day because I just don't want to eat that much.
Carbs should be kept low-ish (30g/day for me), that helps with weight loss a little bit. Also, to me they don't taste like much so I don't see the point in wasting precious tummy space on something tasteless.
I hit a stall at 2 weeks too! Most people do lol it's called the 3 week stall, very common, you can search for it in the search bar and a ton of results will come up. It'll pass, you just have to wait it out. You might actually see my post from a couple of weeks ago lol
Best of luck and again welcome and congrats!

It is very overwheming at first.
For you at this point...fluids.
Your body is going "whoah there".
Protein comes next. And that's why many drink protein shakes. Fluid + protein .
Start reading the daily menu page and share your menu too.
Hang in there. You are about to lose more weight this year than you ever have or will. Enjoy the ride. There is lots to learn.
