I have almond "issues" at times too. But this week I am all about AMAW/CAMAW post-vacation.

good morning everyone!

I am so exhausted this morning...We actually got beautiful weather this weekend so Saturday we spent the majority of the day doing yard work FINALLY. we had so many weeds they filled an entire yard waste bag...and another full bag just of the clippings from all the bushes and hedges that I trimmed. DH actually went out and bought me an electric hedge trimmer on Friday because last year I used the hand held one and we literally have 13 LARGE bushes/hedges in our front yard alone that were about a foot overgrown...it would've taken me 3 days to trim them all by hand LOL...but i managed to get them all trimmed in about 2 hours with the electric one. Thank God. but I am SO SORE today...was sore yesterday too but it feels worse today!
I broke down and bought a few new pieces of clothing this weekend...I can't believe I am back in the size I wore 10 years ago. I don't feel like I look as small as I did then. I feel physically better and more capable, but I am having a hard time seeing a big difference most of the time...the new clothes do help though. I'm even wearing pants today that I bought about 5 years ago when I was losing weight but never got down low enough to fit into them (I had ordered them online and never sent them back)...still had tags on them!

My nephew's 2nd birthday party was yesterday and it was a big summer cookout with burgers and hot dogs and all the typical summer fare (potato salad, taco dip, fruit salads, veggie trays etc)...kuckily I had plenty of healthy options. ended up eating half a cheeseburger patty and a smoked bacon wrapped jalapeno popper which was really amazing. I did sneak ONE bite of potato salad (my mom's is one of my favorite things ever) and one tortilla chip w/taco dip. otherwise I was pretty good considering I was around the food all day. a few raspberries and pickle slices here and there but nothing else bad.
still managed to stay under 800 cals for the day so I was proud of myself!

QOTD: I have dreamed of being a Mermaid since I was about 5 years old so I will say Ocean...but the depths also scare the bejeesus out of me. I don't even like swimming in the lake by my house any deeper than I can see. LOL...but I love being at the beach. Of course, I also love the mountains...i feel the mountains give me more serenity, but the beach is more refreshing.

Morning: coffee w/sugar free blueberry syrup & half vanilla PP
B: greek Light & fit yogurt
L: turkey chilli
S: string cheese and turkey meat stick
D: turkey sausage & kale stuffed pepper

Good morning~ Looks like you had a fabulous weekend with some fabulous people!! I took a little trip to see my son on Saturday and came back last night. I'm one happy mama! When he left, I just didn't realize how much I was going to miss him and how much he meant to me in ways I just never thought of before. So I got my kiddo fix for now, but I know it won't last long. I have plans to go back in July, but I'm not sure he will still be there...he is waiting for the results of his MRI to find out what's next for him and the military takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r...but we'll see.

QOTD - The Ocean - I can't get enough, so healing and good for the soul. The mountains are wonderful also, there is something there too. There is such beauty and peace in nature.

Accountability - I did really well all weekend with a lot of change of plans food wise. There were far too many almonds on the drive home last night though.

19mo post op - 163.1

b-coffee x 2, 2 HB eggs

l-tuna salad w/mayo and onion on spring mix w/balsamic vinegar

d-chili dog with cheese - no bun - I may chicken out - my stomach hurts even thinking about eating this. plan b is my go to scrambled eggs with mushrooms

v/l - on track

e-walk walk walk - I didn't get any walking in this weekend with all the driving and my kiddo on crutches - it made it impossible.

Have a wonderful day!!

So glad that you got to visit with your son. How is he doing? I keep meaning to ask you whether he will rejoin his unit when he is medically released. What is he planning to do?

He is in limbo... He lost the MOS (job/school) slot he originally had due to his injury. Now, everything depends on the results of the MRI. If he is cleared - he will be assigned a new job/school (he gets no choice of what). If it's still bad -he may need surgery/more recovery. If its really bad then he may get medically separated altogether. I'm really hoping he is just given a few more weeks of healing and is good to move on.

His platoon is gone/dispersed. They all went to their separate school/jobs all over the country a month ago. When they are done, they will be re assigned to a new unit at their permanent duty station.

Thanks for asking Janet!!

So sorry that he lost his original MOS. I hope that whatever he gets next is okay even if it isn't his first choice.

I'm so glad you had some time with your son this past weekend, Amy! I know what you mean about missing him in ways you didn't even realize that you would. Kids really are the biggest blessing!

I hope all goes well with your son. I think it will be easier over time being separate from your son, but you'll probably always miss him. When my son went to California it took me a long time to get over it, but then he decided to move back home after a couple of years!
