What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Sometimes we have challenges here on OH and many of us use it to curb carb cravings and get back to plan (like I am now). I see it as another "tool" I use in addition to WLS periodically to allow me to feel in control of my eating.

Mornin' All!

I spent a lot of time with friends this weekend since DH was out of town (he's back now...). I did pretty well food-wise considering..

so this is my last full week of work. I can't believe it's here already!! My last day will be next Monday or Tuesday - depending on how much I get done on Monday. I feel like I'm really on top of things - if not ahead - so unless something unexpected happens, I should be out of there a week from today - YAY!!

QOTD: I've lived in mountains (western NC) and near water (lakes - not oceans). I'm definitely a water person. I especially love oceans, but big lakes are great, too (well, so are smaller lakes, for that matter). That philosophical feeling that another poster mentioned re: mountains is the same type of feeling I get when I'm around water.

this isn't the world's greatest menu - part of it is due to de-commissioning my fridge at work and the fact I have some ingredients in my fridge at home that I need to use up. I should be OK calorie-wise, at least...

3 years out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with chocolate protein powder and strawberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake

L: breakfast sandwich

AS: I doubt I'll need one after the breakfast sandwich, but maybe a cheese stick or two

D: a piece of pizza

Good morning! My weekend was good. It was a lot of wheeling/dealing with the classifieds, it seems. I sold a lawn mower, a shelving unit, a powered lift recliner, BOUGHT a different shelving unit, and listed a couple of other things. I had to laugh after the mower was sold. I had a bunch of guys show up (after a dozen no-shows and low-balling tire kickers) and each one fired it up and ran around my yard. Between them all, they very nearly cut my entire lawn. Hahaha....It was a commercial grade Honda, $1700 new (I bought it used). After a bunch of turds tried to almost steal it, a guy came along and actually offered something decent. His 10 yr old son saved up and bought it to be an entrepreneur this summer with his own lawn business. It is beat up, but it's a Honda and runs great with brand new blades. I'm so glad it's going to a kid like that. I was of the same mindset and it's encouraging to see it in today's youth.

My niece moved in for the summer on Saturday. I got a lot of stuff done around the house with tools, helped my parents load their moving truck, and later today I drive it to their new place and unload it. I was glad to come to work this morning to rest. LOL

My menu is pretty light. Bar/coffee for breakfast (I ate a couple of finger-sized meat sticks on my walk), a shake for lunch and I have a couple of apples and a handful of cherries if I really need something additional, but I doubt it.

QOTD: Good question. Can I pick both? I have a feeling I would fit in quite nicely in British Columbia. Depending on where you go, it can be the best of both worlds but it's expensive as heck. I would someday like to buy a "fat bike" and ride some trails again, and do winter riding. A halfway decent one is a couple grand, which is a setback. I might save up and pull the trigger, you never know. I did really enjoy my Christmas in Myrtle Beach, though. Despite the cold, it was amazing to walk the beach and see the life I did.

My son cuts grass for the neighbours too! He has 3 regular customers, and hoping for more. We live in a subdivision so a riding mower isn't necessary. He has his own mower though and is really handy at fixing it and his trimmers when they malfunction. He's 13 so I'm really proud of him - he's been doing it since he was 11 but we moved last year and he lost his clientele.

Good morning everyone! I'm back and I mean it this time. I have to get back on track and figure out my issues with food. I'm starting with adding in more protein as I think that will help. My accountability has been terrible. Not going to dwell, but I really am serious- I always said I didn't do all of this to my body to fall of the rails, so a lot of tough love going forward.

I started back on my exercise program this morning- 21 Day Fix Extreme from Beachbody - I loved it. I've always skipped over htis program because the word extreme just made me think I wouldn't be able to do it. Well this morning I was pleasantly surprised- and this will be my program for the next 21 days.

QOTD- definitely the ocean. I'm from Newfoundland, and I love water. I live very close to Lake Ontario which is wonderful but definitely a distant 2nd place to the ocean. I'd really love to smell sal****er every day- I agree JB- it's definitely good for the soul.

MEnu:

Breakfast- Protein Shake

Lunch - Salad with 2 proteins from cafeteria

Dinner- Meatballs and some veggies- haven't decided yet but I do have some beets to use up. I will probably make rice for the rest of the fam, but I won't have it.

My Motivational quote for today- People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily. Zig Ziglar

Thank you for your consistency- I appreciate this thread so much.
