Good Monday Morning, Menu Peeps! I hope you had as wonderful of a weekend as I have had! Yesterday Grim and I toured our favorite OH pals around to some iconic New England towns--Rockport, Salem and Castle Island. We ate lobster on the water and shopped in and out of little boutiques and galleries. It was lovely! Here are just a few of the millions of pics we took!

This is the 3rd annual pic of Grim and I in the same spot on Castle Island, which was a walk we took together right before we started dating :)

Witches! All of them!

Accountability: Surprisingly good considering all of the temptations! I had a little corner of fudge, and about 10 French fries, but considering all that I turned down, I am okay with it. We did a ton of walking, too.

QOTD: Mountains or Ocean? I love the mountains, but I couldn't imagine not seeing and smelling the ocean every day. I really feel like the ocean melts away my stress :)

Today we are heading into Boston. The weather is going to be kind of crappy, so we are planning to do some museums and hit some touristy spots, too. I really couldn't possibly plan for a menu but I am sure it will start with eggs and bacon for breakfast, and as usual--I will try to pick protein-forward options when we are eating out.

Hope you all have an awesome day, too!

Good morning! What fun pictures, JB!

I meant to have a "lazy day" yesterday, but ended up going to the gym, then tending to things in the garden for several hours. I had a full bucket each of garden beans (purple beans, they turn green when cooked), sugar snap peas, kale, and basil. Lots of pesto in my future--I like it on chicken! I also made a lemon basil dressing that I can't wait to marinade something in. I'm thinking chicken, fish, or shrimp.

qotd: Mountains for sure, though I've only met the ocean once as a child. I feel the same way about the mountains as you do the ocean--melts my stress away. They're so quiet and peaceful and make me contemplate the vastness of this world and my small role as a human being in it (or something.)

breakfast: coffee with premier

snack: HB egg, 2 chicken sausages

lunch: 2 oz chicken on spinach salad with some of the lemon basil dressing

snack: string cheese

dinner: salmon, maybe marinated in the dressing. Steamed snap peas maybe.

Good morning all! JB, I'm glad that you are having such a great time. Thanks for sharing the pictures. How does Grim feel about escorting 3 beautiful ladies around NE?! Have fun!

I spent alot of time this weekend watching World Cup soccer with DW. We aren't usually into sports, but DW has to watch every game start to finish, so that is what we do every 4 years! I did skip out on some of the action to do some gardening and cleaning. I got all of the weeds pulled and some coneflowers planted. Everything had gotten out of control with all of the rain and my not being able to get out and keep up with it! I also went to the nursery and got some extra perennials (coneflowers and sedum) to fill in some empty spots and got annuals (gerber daisies, choleas and geraniums) to replace the worn out pansies in my barrel pots. No veg this year, but I want to keep some flowers going if I can. Unfortunately, only 4 of the 2 dozen cannas that I planted came up. Not sure if they were choked out by all the weeds or what, but that is disappointing!

QOTD: I love both mountains and ocean, but since I am very fair and can't be out on the beach very much, we usually go to the mountains.

Menu:

B1: coffee, vanilla Premier Protein shake

B2: ham, hard boiled egg

Snack: protein shake, smoked salmon, apricot

Lunch: hamburger, baby carrots

Snack: turkey breast, apple, almonds

Dinner: shrimp?

Exercise: 3-4 mile walk

Happy Monday!! What great pictures - looks like you are having a ton of fun, and the 3rd annual photo is adorable!

qotd - my favorite are islands with nice rocky cliffs - then you can get the mountainy and ocean feel -- but I grew up in Colorado so if pushed, it's always mountains for me!

accountability - yesterday was not the best, noting bad but not the right split of meals and too low on fluids!

plan for today is a bit up in the air - my first time at the new facility so I'm not too sure what the options are but I'll make good protein choices! I have my premiere and I picked up a Greek yogurt getting coffee and stuck emergency jerky in my laptop bag. I'm ready!

b - coffee + 1/2 premiere x 2

l - Greek blueberry yogurt

d - ? Possibly a cheese plate from the hotel restaurant

totals - 592 calories, 63 protein, 20 carbs

Good morning! I guess it is a good thing that the weather isn't great today as we have indoor stuff all day. I'd like to see some summer in New England at some point though. Great pics, JB. It looks like you had a fun weekend!

QOTD: Ocean of course! Though I like lakes. So a lake in the mountains would be acceptable.

Accountability: As I mentioned yesterday, for at least a couple of days (maybe tomorrow too) I wanted to try doing 100% AMAW which I have never done before (I have always done CAMAW), then do CAMAW for several days. I was completely on plan yesterday! My carbs were 5 (LOL)! The hardest was having coffee without creamer.

2 Years, 3 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 19 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: Canadian bacon

L: Deli turkey

D: Shrimp

S: Meat sticks, pork rinds

Coffee without crreeaaamm !!! Gah!... just teasing...it's doable and well it's doable.... that is basically the same thing that keeps me from AMAW.

Black coffee is the toughest part of AMAW for me too! Eggs would be 2nd toughest part. You got this!!

I had to do some searching to figure out what AMAW/CAMAW meant, but it looks fascinating! I'm sure once I can tolerate a little more in the way of meats, I'll give it a shot, too. Looks like a great challenge!
