What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?

Last night we picked up Mschwab from the airport! We had a lovely stroll through a fancy part of town and then dinner. I can't believe it, but we forgot to take a pic, so you'll have to catch us on FB or wait til Monday! Today we are heading to the Brahmin Outlets (yay!) and then down to my happy place: Newport, RI. I am not 100% sure what we will do there--there are some incredible mansions to visit, plus gardens, shopping, museums and some incredible places to eat along the water. Not sure where we will be for lunch, but I am sure I'll be having a Lobster Roll (insides only!). And if we aren't too tired tonight, we will head over to see a minor league baseball game, hence the hotdog on my menu.

Accountability: All good except for added a Grapefruit Mule with dinner ;)

QOTD: Do you ever have TV on in the background as noise? What is your go-to channel or show to have on in the background when you are not paying attention? I used to have Law & Order on all the time, but after cutting the cord to cable, I find myself with old sitcoms that I can find on Netflix like 30 Rock or Frasier.

Ok, since I don't have a pic of my lovely visitor yet, here is a pic of me after my visit tot he hair salon this week. I got some very subtle highlights to freshen up for the summer.

Today's menu is not really set, but I like to do my best to guess even when I am out and about all day, just so I can get an idea of what kind of choices I am making.

Good morning! It's been so gloomy and rainy here that getting out of bed has been a struggle all week. TGIF and I can laze in bed a bit tomorrow!

accountability: I ate way too many snacks yesterday. Nothing off plan (jerky, cottage cheese, string cheese), just way more snacks than I needed and I was eating them fairly mindlessly. I'm going to try planning more small meals and snacks and see if that helps with the snacking urges I've been getting at work. Doesn't help that business has slowed down considerably for summer, so I get bored and want to munch.

Qotd: I used to put sitcom reruns on as background noise, but I must have gotten out of the habit after we got rid of cable. I'm more likely to put music on through the Bluetooth speaker if I want some noise in the background, but most often I'm reading and fine with silence.

Breakfast: coffee with Premier.

Snack: Emiepies egg salad

lunch: leftover zucchini with meat sauce and cheese

snack: string cheese, slice of turkey

dinner: chicken thigh and small salad

Thank you! The scale didn't move a whole lot since last month. I notice that I tend to have long stalls, and then drop 10-15 lbs in a week, so I go through an emotional roller coaster of frustration, followed by disbelief (did I just drop 3 lbs overnight???) then back to frustration (oh come ON, scale, keep moving!)

I'm also noticing old grazing behaviors start to creep back in, and need to go back to "keeping my hands and mind" busy strategies. We don't keep "bad" carb foods in the House still, but I find myself wandering into the kitchen for a string cheese for no reason, or a few pieces of awesome jerky we brought back home from vacation that I really have no reason to eat at that moment.

Sorry about the stalls. Those can sure be frustrating! And good for you for being aware when you're grazing and also great that what you're grazing on are healthy snacks.
