What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning :)
Up way too early for a morning I don't need to be up. Between baby and puppies I am not sleeping much these days. DH's helpful comment "everyone keeps telling me that the third trimester is the worst". Yes dear, thank you for that ;)
Today we are meeting up for our weekly lunch date, then I'm going to hit up Walmart and CT (hardware store). I've been stocking up on things so I don't have to worry as much about going out if/when baby arrives. I feel like I've been spending a ton but I know it means I won't be spending much in August and probably September. DH kind of freaked when I told him I was buying three large bags of dog food (our pups are small), but I said at the end of the year it will work out the same.
QOTD: my favourites were probably the Berenstain bear books, followed by the Dr. Seuss collection. I also loved the Shel Silverstein books when I was a bit older. My favourite days were always the book fair and when my mom would let me sign up for the monthly book packages. She was a single mom so there wasn't always money. I remember sitting on my front porch with a friend one day when the little package arrived and I tore right into it. I still have about 90% of my childhood books.
Post-op three years and three months.
Breakfast - protein bar
Snack - egg and pickles
Lunch - something at a restaurant. I think we are doing tex-mex
Snack - Greek yogurt and banana
Dinner - BBQ chicken, asparagus, and potato
Snack - pudding if needed
All water and vits.

Shel Silverstein books are the best! Can't believe I forgot about them. I used to have my students (first graders) memorize Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout. It was adorable.
Mornin' All!
I wish I lived on the east coast - it would be so much fun to get together with you guys!! Have a great time!!
I have to go some hotel in about an hour to go through all the crap we have to go through every year to get a $150 rebate on our health insurance (weight, blood pressure, waist measurement, mini blood panel). My weight is of course up a pound this morning - the turkey slices and string cheese I had for lunch yesterday did me in (sodium!). Oh well - I don't really care about any of this - I just put up with it for my rebate. It's what they do at the doctor's office that counts...
Massage this afternoon - yay! And I might take tomorrow off - double yay - although it's not quite as exciting now that I'll be retiring in two weeks!
QOTD: I remember my parents really loved "A Tree is Nice" when I was a kid - I liked it, too. I can't really remember any other books, at least from when I was really young, although we went to the public library all the time and got tons. I loved Dr. Seuss books, too.
3 years out:
B: Miralax/protein shake (not the regular breakfast this morning since I have to fast before this stupid test), coffee with half & half
MS: yogurt
L: turkey slices and string cheese, strawberries with SF Cool Whip
AS: probably another yogurt
D: chicken breast, vegetables
Morning menu folks! I am having a lazy morning including coffee in bed. I decided to take the day completely off and enjoy some rejuvenation time. It isn't supposed to be too hot so I plan to take a long walk in a wooded park. I need some active alone time to let my mind rest. I may also watch some World Cup soccer.
Edited to add that I did 3 walks yesterday that registered as exercise on my fit bit. 14 minutes to walk down the street for a cup of coffee. 14 minutes to do the one mile circuit inside my office building and an hour of walking at lunch. For a total step count over 18,000 yesterday!
JB sounds like you will be having good times! Enjoy!
QOTD: I really like many of the titles already mentioned but I am particularly fond of Curious George. I also appreciate Dr Suess now but not as much as a kid.
Menu:
B: hard boiled egg, ham & lots of coffee
S: Protein shake, chomps, cashews
L: chicken breast, baby carrots (unless I splurge and go out for a crabcake!)
S: protein shake, turkey breast, apple, almonds
D: not sure
Exercise: 6-8 miles of walking...yippee!

Great job on the step count. I am hoping to have a few days like that ahead of me with my visitors :)
Whoop! Whoop! Can't wait.
QOTD: You are making me stretch my memory banks. Of course loved Dr Suesss and Green Eggs and Ham, as well as Are you my Mother?
I remember for my son I had one book that was a Southwestern version of the Three little pigs - I think called the three little Javelinas. Also had this neat travel story book that had envelopes you opened with notes about the little girls adventures like she was writing home. No wonder he's in Bali. Ha. #lifeisanadventure
B: coffee latte and overnight oats
L: mahi burger, sweet potato, zucchini
D: Turkey sauté with mushrooms, spinach
S: protein drink, strawberries, turkey/provolone roll up, HB egg
ex: gym
