What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Morning. Well, it's my last Thursday in my office. Everything (or mostly everything) is packed, but they're still expecting a full day. Hopefully I don't need anything that's already crated up. I went to PT for my not caused by tennis tennis elbow early today and made it into work almost on time. I have one more appointment, and they're just starting treatments like cupping, taping, and bracing. Ummmm, maybe we could have tried that 3 weeks ago. Just saying.
QOTD: I loved the Berenstain Bears books.
My plan:
B: Bacon
L: smoked turkey slices and a cheese stick
D:???? Maybe flank steak or left over chicken thighs. Depends on what time I get home from the gym
S: Latte and likely something before the gym
E: Spin class or a run outside. It's supposed to be the hottest day of the week, so I'll likely just spin.
Thanks! I'm really not happy about it. My old office was about a mile away from the gym where I spin, so I could leave work 20 minutes before class and make it. We're going 1.6 miles further, and you have to get through one of the busiest intersections in LA. I told the instructor that tonight may be my last 6:30 class since I think they'll frown on me leaving work at 5:45 to make a class!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! Posting quite late today.
JB, Mschwab, and NYMom222, I hope you all have a blast together this weekend! Bet you will!
QOTD: Can I tell you how much I love this topic? I love children's books and have a big collection, kept even after my insane purge before moving, because I love them so and find them so charming. Here are just some of my favorites, in no particular order:
Alice in Wonderland, and Alice Through the Looking Glass - I love these stories and adore the incomparable original Tenniel illustrations! I remember my dad reading Alice in Wonderland to me when I was 3 and my mom was pregnant with my brother. It was really kind of beyond me at the time - I was very little - but I concentrated and tried very hard to follow along as my dad read.
The Wind in the Willows - such a wonderful old favorite!
The Uncle Wiggly books - I loved these stories and colorful illustrations!
Half Magic - Great story about a family of kids who find a magic coin which delivers curious results
The Narnia series - You simply can't get better than these C.S. Lewis classics!
The Velveteen Rabbit - Such a tender favorite!
Harriet the Spy - I loved this quirky kid who spied on everyone and only would eat tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches.
Madeline - love!
Pipi Longstocking - The *****iest little redhead in the whole world!
Winnie-the-Pooh and all of the other fantastic A.A. Milne books - I love the charming illustrations and the wonderful stories!
A Wrinkle in Time - such a great story
Ramona the Pest - And all of the Ramona Quimby books. So fun, so instantly relatable!
The Rootabaga Stories - fabulous, memorable tales from Carl Sandberg
The Borrowers - this was one of my absolute favorite series as a kid. I loved all of the adventures of the Clock family - Pod, Homily, and little Arietty - and the fantastic original illustrations!
Find the Constellations - this beginner's star identification guide by H.A.Rey, the author of the fabulous Curious George stories, made star-gazing amazing and fun for my little boy and for me! Highly recommended!
Charlotte's Web - My favorite ever pig! Such a wonderful story!
Dr. Seuss - I loved each and every one!
All the Silver Pennies - an anthology of poetry for children - one of the most magical, fabulous books in the world.
Apologies to all of the incredible books not mentioned. I love you too!
First: 38 ounces of tea
B: ham and smoked gouda
L: tuna
D: chicken breast, with a little Greek yogurt as a condiment
S: roast beef
Have a beautiful day, one and all!
