What's on you Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
on 6/20/18 3:27 am
Good morning menu pals! I can't believe it... I am counting down to only 11 more days until I am back to work. Maybe that is what is making me grumpy? Not sure, but I got myself into a funk yesterday. Today is all about appointments (hair & dentist), errands, and trying to make our house (which is still torn apart from construction) look presentable to guests. Hmmm--feels like a losing battle.
Accountability: Even better than I posted. I switched out a high calorie dinner to a low calories one and was on track the rest of the day.
QOTD: Let's play "Would You Rather...?"! Would you rather not be able to use your hands or not be able to walk? I can't really imagine either. I know they have a lot of really amazing technology to deal with both, but I think I can imagine myself navigating the world with a wheelchair easier than I can imagine not having hands. But I would really miss walking...
I foresee a weekend ahead with higher than normal calories, so I am doing some preventative CAMAW and calorie restricting.
Good morning menu folks! The weather is a little cooler and less humid though it is still certainly summer weather. I plan to do a long walk at lunch. I did my longest walk since PS yesterday morning -- 2 miles. It felt good to be out and moving but it was too hot to go any further. I also confirmed with my PS that I can start doing arm weights, although I have to wait until 12 weeks (7 more weeks) to do any ab work. I am thinking of getting a personal trainer when I am released to do everything. I need the motivation to stick with it.
Menu:
Breakfast: eggs, ham
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, jerky, almonds
Lunch: fish, salad
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, chomps, apple
Dinner: shrimp, baby carrots
Exercise: I'm going to try to do at least 3 miles of fast walking at lunch

Thanks for asking. It went better than I had expected. I was able to mostly relax and just answer fairly directly. Hopefully I will hear something in about 2 weeks.
How are the floors going?

Good morning! Yesterday was wild going back to work, namely because the LOST MY NETWORK OROFILE. Meaning anything personalized on my work computer, any shortcuts, saved bookmarks, anything saved to my personal network space, my dang email signature...so I spent all day essentially re-saving stuff. I'm most upset about my training materials that I'd been authoring (I'm a trainer for my team so it was substantial). Since it wasn't finished, I hadn't saved it to the shared drive yet, and we're not allowed to use external storage (no clouds or flash drives--security reasoning) so...poof. It's all gone. I reclaimed a small bit from someone I'd recently trained and sent specific files to, so he sent them back but the rest...ugh. Probably over 6 months worth of work.
Qotd: I'd rather keep my hand function. I might be able to learn how to use a wheelchair, but I feel like not having use of hands would be monumentally harder.
Breakfast: coffee with Premier
Lunch: turkey and Swiss on a lettuce wrap, small handful of raw sugar snap peas from the garden
snack: Greek L&F
dinner: zucchini noodle spaghetti with extra meaty sauce

That's terrible! At the company I worked for everything on our computer was automatically mirrored on another site, so at most we would lose a day of work if something like that happened. I used to think they were overly vigilant, but I guess it was a good thing!

In the past this has happened and they were able to recover it, maybe losing a few days work also. There were backups on another server. This time though, he said he couldn't find my network profile at all, as if I never existed. HOW?

Probably a sign that I should have remained on vacation permanently :P
