What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Thank you for sharing! :-) I'm still pre-op and the dietitian told me to never eat marinades again and to only ever use dry rubs because they don't add carbs. Boring...and I ignored her. Glad to see you eating a little BBQ sauce and being successful. Quick question - what' the Trader Joe's Just Chicken?

I've realized that for long term success I need to start mixing up my meal plans (otherwise I get tempted to order eggplant parmesan from Grub Hub) and am coming here now for ideas.

I am incredibly thankful for all of the support and advice in these forums. You guys are the best!! You have no idea how much you've helped me out already!

Well, I got that bbq sauce in the most recent Keto Krate and while it has better stats than many, the third ingredient is still molasses, so it's really not the best choice. Not that you asked for advice, but I would say avoid allllllll sugar while you are still in your losing phase. I'd be inclined to agree to stay away from the sauces for awhile, too, sorry!

My boyfriend (a fellow poster on this forum) always says that even though weightloss a marathon not a sprint, there really should be some sprinting to get to goal in the first year. Race for your life because it gets sooooooo much harder to lose if you haven't gotten to goal in year one.

I'm so glad this forum has been helpful. Please feel free to add your menus no matter where you are in your marathon! I think it is great to see where everyone is in the process :)

I bought a dehydrator last week and tried my first batch of salmon jerky. It turned out OK, but next time I'll leave it in longer and maybe change the marinade a bit. I was afraid it would become salmon leather, and I'm sure I'll learn every time I do a batch. I was looking for something to keep with me that wouldn't require refrigeration and was high protein. Looking for more foods that are easy to fix and high protein. Stuck in a rut with my meals, I only eat fish & shrimp so I'm always looking for something new.

Breakfast- Greek yogurt 14g protein

Lunch- 1oz salmon jerky 15g protein + Greek yogurt 14g protein

Afternoon Snack- Protein Water 15g protein

Dinner- TBD shrimp maybe?

And just finished it all! What a lil piggy today. Might need to add a boiled egg before the night is over but I am going to try not to. Went for that blood work this morning so wanted steak the minute I hit the door. I thought they drained it all out of me! Lol!

Hi everyone,

It was a great weekend! I had my father over for father's day and I grilled up one his favorite meals. Grilled chopped sirloin steak with steamed broccoli and mac salad. I sent all of the leftovers home with him. He was so happy! Boy, I sure do miss macaroni salad!

QOTD: I don't think I have an accent but my cousins from SC say the I have a New England Accent. That's only because they have a southern accent ! LOL!

Accountability: On plan. I was proud of myself not giving in to tasting the macaroni salad.

It is winter here and it has been super cold (Antarctic blast) with rain... But I would rather it were chilly (the cold here is nothing compared to New England, northern US, or Canada) than super hoot.

It won't be Father's Day here for another 2 or 3 months. Which is different and I forgot to call my dad this weekend.

we were pretty mellow this weekend, checked in on our floors progress: looking awesome! And we found someone to do the bathroom for us, whew!

QOTD: That is a tough one... I grew up in Newburyport just outside Boston, but don't have much of an accent. I think that is largely due to the fact that many people in my family speak more than one language and our English is really flat as a result. (Danish, German, French) My language set is Chinese, a smattering of Danish, Spanish with English as the primary. Now I have a sort of American accent with hints of Kiwi from being here for 7.5 years.

Food wise I was totally virtuous until about 10 pm then had a baby bel cheese wedge...

I was getting behind on movement again, so I stepped back to more liquids to help it along. It worked:-)

B: decaf coffee, protein shake

L: Protein water, cottage cheese

D: yoghurt with 1tsp PB2

S: cup of chicken broth

V/W on track

E: needed a rest day after busy weekend... going to chat with doc and see if he will clear me for the gym (at least the treadmill so I can walk when it is yucky out)

Have fun,

Wow, I am both in awe of and jealous of people that are multi-lingual!

I am really rusty on my languages, but I don't use them as much here. I am the least talented out of the family with regard to that... and it helps that my family is Danish, I lived in China, Russia (I think I remember mostly swear words), and Spain. It is a ton easier to accrue language when you live where it is spoken.

I started acquiring Te Reo Maori when we lived up in the Far North. but since we've moved to the South Island, there aren't very many native speakers around.

Have fun,
