Thanks! I'll need to ease back into it. No hour of laps and then an Aqua Zumba class! But it will be so nice to be in the water again.

I guess I'm the anomaly here, but I totally enjoy receiving those appreciative looks and vibes, and find being flirted with to be fun. My enjoyment of this wouldn't extend to crude comments or any uninvited touching, or course, and I would shut it down quickly f I felt a guy was creepy. But doors being held open and the entire vibe of being recognized and appreciated that way I find entirely pleasureable, as long as it's respectful. Which it has been (though it definitely wasn't always when I was younger, and there some stories there). I haven't had to deal with any unwanted hugging or other touching since losing, though - that definitely takes things to a different level. If I had a relative who felt entitled to copping a feel while ostensibly giving a respectable family-type hug, i probably wouldn't do anything but register it the first time it happened. But if the guy tried it again, I would say something pointed to him without smiling or flirting, like "quite the octopus, aren't you, uncle Bob?" And I'd fix him with a basilisk-like, cold stare and very pointedly say, "Don't do that". I'd keep my voice low enough to have that be a private interaction. Then I'd step away and resume friendly interactions with the group. Good luck Janet!

I certainly enjoy being respectfully complimented. It can make your day. In this case because it is a family member making lewd comments and touching, it just isn't okay. That said, I don't want my mom to get hurt in this and that makes it difficult.

I missed the part about the lewd comments, and I didn't think about having to shield your mom. That makes it so much more tricky and delicate. Sorry you're having to deal with this, Janet.

I was never comfortable with unwanted sexual attention and that is the ONE advantage to being obese. I almost never got it when I was fat. I was a little worried about losing all the weight because I was afraid it would start up again, but then figured since I was in my late 50's, it probably wouldn't be nearly as bad. And it hasn't been - but I still get it once in awhile. Fortunately, no propositions or inappropriate touching - more staring. It was weird because at first I thought people stared because I was fat (which used to happen), but no - I'm not fat anymore, so that wasn't it. UGH.

I'm not sure what I would do if I got a proposition or was touched. I was NEVER comfortable with that. Thanks to those of you who made some suggestions on how to deal with this!!

I've had some creepers mostly older men - one followed me around walmart about 2 weeks ago and that was unnerving.

Happy Monday everyone!!! Hope it's a fantastic and quick week for everyone!

QOTD - I don't think I do; I grew up in Chicago, spent most of my time with my Australian grandmother, and then we moved around between Illinois, central Florida and Colorado so I think that south sider sound was smoothed out----but then I talk to my cousins and I'm like "wow, we really sound alike" so maybe I still do.

Accountability - since my nutritionist said I could count my coffee but not my protein shake as fluids, my fluid intake numbers have been much better, lol; protein and vitamins spot on. I need to step up my exercise though!

B - Coffee + 1/3 carton Premier RTD

S - coffee + 1/3 carton Premier RTD

L - Skyr

S - cheese stick

D - 2 oz deli roast beef

S - final 1/3 premier RTD

Totals - 447 calories, 66 protein, 22 carbs

Exercise - did a quick half hour on the treadmill this morning and I have a pilates class tonight

Make it a marvelous Monday!

that's odd - I've always counted my protein shakes but NOT my coffee (unless it's decaf). I wonder what her rationale on that is??

I thought so too, and I had been tracking same

as you. She said she's not concerned aboutrhe Caffeine but that the protein shakes are more thick/more food like. I forgot to ask if that means I should wait 30 minutes to drink after one, lol!
