What's on your Wednesday menu, RNYers?
Good morning menu friends! Back home from camping today. Lily and I already have our 4 miles in and will do at least one more mile before dark. We had lots of good hikes while camping too. Accountability was bad. The urge to snack(thanks prednisone!)won out and there were cheese puffs eaten(about 3/4 c to be precise). Today is a new day though with opportunities for better choices. Post op 5 years 9.5 months and weight at 119.2 today. Heres the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 4 oz deli ham and cheese 1/2 c spinach D 4 oz thin pork chops 1/2 c seasoned green beans S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone! Now off to fire up the coffee pot!
Cheese puffs are evil!

Good morning! Nice walk in to work this morning, but I find myself really missing my bike. I lost my nerve a little bit (and maybe some of the faith I had in people) with the car that clipped me, combined with so many close calls that I've lost count. A friend last night said that I shouldn't give up something I love doing and "let the cars win". Maybe he's right. If the cars "win" it should be because one has run me over completely, not intimidated me into changing the bike for a good pair of sneakers. It seems that pedestrians aren't even all that much safer from distracted and careless drivers nowadays when I check the news. I might ride again sooner than I think.
Menu: protein bar/coffee for breakfast, Oikos 000 for snacks, and lunch will be a protein shake. Oh and I have a couple of those baby apples that my kids like thrown in there for good measure, along with a snack baggie of mini wheats to bump up the fibre a bit. I'll be slamming back the water today like crazy.
QOTD: My lunch break used to be spent at my desk reading the news, but lately I've found that if I'm in my office, people have no problem stepping on my lunch break time for things they need, and I don't say no. I'll be elbow deep (figuratively speaking) in a bowl of chili, and someone will walk in and start in on me for their needs, expecting it right then. I'm thinking of getting a salt block and a rubber mallet so they can go pound it. LOL
Tomorrow is the next follow-up test from that weird EKG reading at my 1-year appointment. I did the heart monitor for 3 days as requested, and that was almost a month ago now. I never heard anything from anyone about it so I'll do the digging maybe tomorrow when I'm there for an ECG. Friday I am off work, but have to go in for bloodwork at 7 a.m. for an end-of-June (and last cardio appointment, hopefully) stress test. With my fairly active lifestyle, current weight and new blood numbers, I'm not worried about the treadmill much. It's nice that the docs are so thorough with things, and honestly, I'm a little fascinated by it all.

Good morning! Today is a busy day, but a good day! I am off today. I need to clean a bit and do some laundry. Everyone in my family is either at work or college today. I like my quiet time, but it feels lonely sometimes too. I am in a new chapter now in my life and it feels awkward and uncomfortable.
I have been really focusing on not snacking and really upping my water. I am down 2 pounds since Saturday, which makes me happy.
QOTD- I always seem to work through my lunch brea****asionally I will sit down for 5 minutes and eat a chomps. I would rather just get my work done so I can go home.
Accountability- I had 2 slices of sharp cheddar. I looked at the package this morning and each slice is 110 calories. So that was 220 extra calories. Cheese is a slippery slope! I need to step away from the cheese!! Its not worth my calories.
Black coffee
B- 2 poached eggs
L- 4 ounces shredded chicken breast with salsa
D-grilled halibut with lots of lemon
S- chomps if needed.
Lots of water. I just make a pitcher of crystal light lemonade. I buy the crystal light pure. It has stevia in it instead of aspartame. I add 3 bags of tazo passion tea. It tastes very similar to the Starbucks shaken passion lemonade. So good and refreshing and without the sugar!!
Have a great day. Be strong.

Oh no, hopefully it will wrap up today and you can relax a bit!!
QOTD - I have never been a lunch break person, always worked through -- sometimes eating at my desk, sometimes not. Post surgery, I have been diligent about eating lunch AND since i work through, I'm better about adjusting my hours to account for that vs just working through and running up the 10 hour days!
Accountability -- this week, my days have been longer with starting work at 6 and the pilates at 8 and I've noticed I've been a bit hungry in the evenings after I get home -- so I started saving 1/3 of my premiere to finish after working out. Seems to have helped!
B - 1/2 premere + coffee
S - 1/2 premiere + coffee
L - 1 oz deli turkey + 2 oz cheddar cheese
D - 1 chicken jalapeno sausage

morning everyone!
Since we got the weight machine last weekend I have been making a serious effort to force myself to use it every day. I am hoping that in a few weeks it will just be second nature to head down to the basement after Story is asleep and do my workout- whether its 20 mins or an hour, at least it's something...even days when I can't bring myself to do cardio, I love weight training. It makes me feel so much more capable when I am stronger.
QOTD: I always read on my lunch break, either a book, kindle, or audiobook. I sit in the break room, eating my lunch and reading. I only get a half hour so I don't have time to go anywhere and eat really since it takes me at least 20 mins to eat now.
Morning: coffee & caramel PP
B: greek L&F yogurt (i've had the same yogurt in the fridge here for a week and planned to eat it every day and haven't yet.)
L: 3 oz leftover chicken fajita meat w/peppers, 1/4oz of cheddar and 1Tbsp sour cream
S: turkey meat stick or string cheese
D: Gouda stuffed meatballs & garlic brussels sprouts
Happy HumpDay everyone :P
