What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 6/12/18 4:41 am
Congrats on the job offer!!!
QOTD - I think I am perpetually tired since I have had sleep issues my whole life, so I have to go with cranky when hungry -- fortunately, I haven't really gotten to the hangry point in about 4 months, lol.
Accountability - With the time shifting of my schedule, yesterday was a long day and I was hungry when I got home about 9PM so I had two ounces of premiere while getting ready for bed.
B - premiere + coffee
S - premiere + coffee
L - mozz and salami
S - ?
D - ? -- I'm heading to Trader joes and may find something protein forward there
V - on track now that I'm home again; forgetting them last week was irresponsible but not having the iron related issues was so nice.
E - Pilates tonight
Happy Tuesday all, have a great one!

Good morning :)
I'm semi-trapped at home today -- waiting for a UPS shipment. The window they gave me was about 10am-2pm, so they will probably be here around 5pm. So I guess the house will get some care today.
I've already weeded and sprayed our patio -- we use pickling vinegar on a sunny day to keep down the weeds. The previous owners did not install the patio correctly so weeds are a challenge every year.
QOTD: lol I probably get a little snarky when hungry or tired, but I get the worst when I'm a passenger when DH is driving. The hard part is that he believes he is a defensive driver, but agrees that he is an aggressive driver. I'm a patient, "old lady" driver.
Post-op three years and three months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - egg and bun
Lunch - sort of taco salad
Snack - almonds and apricots
Dinner - something with leftover taco beef
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Good morning!
Yesterday my menu was shot to hell a little bit, but there will be days like that. As long as they're few and far between, I don't beat myself up about it. As Steven Tyler says, "Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things". We had a fundraiser dinner for my church and I may have eaten some stuff. Not too full or anything like that, just not my usual fare. I'm not dwelling on it, just back to the grindstone today. I did have some "ghost pepper chips" because I'm a heat guy. Light me up. LOL
My menu today actually has real food on it. Except for breakfast, that's still my protein bar and (this time) a hawaiian coconut flavoured coffee. I added a super hot meat stick perhaps a bit sooner than I should have while sitting here at my desk, so there's a WHOLE LOT of weird stuff going on in my mouth right now.
MS/AS: Oikos 000 mixed berry greek yogurt. Lunch is leftover stir-fry, mostly chicken and veggies. There's about 1/4 cup of cooked rice mixed in but I tried to pick out most of that and toss it. Supper is a question mark, but it'll be on point. I have an emergency shake if I really need something else but I doubt I will. It's not the usual Kaizen Costco shake, we bought "Pure Protein" shake mix this time, which is my bar brand. I've never had their shake powder.
QOTD: I'm no different when I'm hungry (or when I think I might be, I still don't ever actually feel hungry 16 months out). When I'm tired, I'm a lion with a thorn in his paw, but I try and keep that in check as much as possible. If I'm too grouchy and I lash out or snap at someone (my wife, or particularly my daughters) I go back and apologize, have a chat about it and maul them with hugs. If I deplete their "love tank" I gotta fill it up. With having daughters, I've always tried to emulate my dad who is and was awesome to my sisters. "Be the kind of man you want them to find, and they will". And they did. So when I snap like a tool, I think "Is this the kind of guy I want them to be dealing with". It's not perfect, I don't always get it right, but that's the goal.
I know Cara has said this before, so I'm just repeating it....I love it when you talk about your wife and daughters. I can feel the love and what you said about what kind of man would they marry resonates so much with me. You sound like a great husband and dad.

Good morning,
The job went good. It was fun time with the babies and toddlers. I felt bad for this one toddler, he was so chunky, he was real heavy. Only thing they expect you to eat with the kids. Had cottage cheese and pineapple. Ate a little bit.
At support group, they served something good for a change, chili, salad , half turkey sandwich and fruit ****tail. Had that instead of a protein bar
Tonight wls peer support group.
Still not using Splenda and I?m not binging on sweets. Also when I go to the store, the sweets aren?t calling out my name. That?s a big change for me. Last week I lost 5 pounds in a week.
Qotd I'm more cranky when I'm tired unless I'm really hungry.
B ham and cheese omelette, string cheese and pork and beans
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D protein bar
Have a good day
The doctor wanted me to add more fiber and veggies to my diet. Also good fats but I really don't like avocado and they are so expensive for one.
It sounds like things are looking better for you Yvonne. Good to hear!
