What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Hello from hot Missouri. Grass is already turning brown. We need rain.
Got on the scale this morning and it was not nice. Up 2 lbs. No one to blame but ME. Those dang brownies and the party mix did it. DH eats way more than I do and doesn't gain. It's just not fair. There are 2 brownies and DH will have them. The party mix is different than the Chex party mix. This one has Chinese noodles, cereal and nuts and the sauce is butter, curry powder and ginger. So, you have fat and carbs.....not a good combo. It's almost gone and I'm not eating any more of it.
QOTD: The last assignment at the accounting firm I retired from in 2012 was my favorite job. I paid bills and was responsible for all the catering done in the office. I enjoyed putting together the snacks and meals for groups.
Breakfast: Just Crack an Egg; sausage patty
Lunch: Protein shake
Snack: Protein bar? (taking a friend to a doctor appt. so will have a bar handy)
Dinner: Polish sausage; kraut
Snack: Greek yogurt

I am sitting here this morning across from oldest nephew. We are both playing video games and sharing a banana. I let my husband sleep in and today is set up to just be a quiet day. I am a very happy Megan.
Qotd: My best job by far was teaching ice skating and driving the Zamboni. I was a rink rat and fortunate enough to basically work for my mom. I didn't like all the politics and drama that management brought into the place but the people were usually great and the kids were awesome. Plus in the summers it was always cold inside.
Accountability: I posted so late last night that I definitely stuck to the menu. Today will be a little sketchier.
Bf: 1/2 slice of Dave's thin slice powerseed bread, 2oz deli sliced rotisserie chicken, 3" banana, 1/2t margarine, 1/2t sugar free jelly
MS: 2oz cottage cheese, 1 scoop beneprotein
L: 2oz canned chicken
AS: sugar free pudding, pbfit
D: leftovers of various meats up to 2oz, 3 strawberries, sugar free cool whip, 1/2 oz Cabot extra low fat cheddar
Sugar free gelatin
Happy Monday Everyone!
It's the last week of classes here so it's a good Monday morning for me. I can't wait for summer break so I can breath and maybe add some exercise into my life again.
QOTD: My current job would be my best job. It's crazy insane busy while I'm here but I have great students and a supportive administration and I know that is something that is unique and rare so I love it and wouldn't look to go elsewhere as a music teacher. Unfortunately, the governer messed up all of our retirements to I'll be doing this job far longer than anyone wants me to do it and young ones getting out of school all fresh and ready to go will have to wait until my old and stale self gets out of the way... oh wait I'm supposed to be positive.... I do love my job but if anyone says we have it easy I'd love to have them following through a week.. then we shall talk. Take it with a grain of salt as I'm just truly ready for summer!
B: premiere protein in coffee

Hello my Protein Pa!s! Happy Monday!
JB, I can't wait to see photos of your mom and dad's finished new floors! It is really, really good of you and Grim to undertake such a huge project for them. And Happy Belated Birthday to Grim! The box of Katz deli meats is kind of a hilarious present!
I made a big pot of boeuf bourguinon yesterday to portion out and freeze. I used Anthony Bourdain's recipe but have to say I prefer the one from Le Creuset. The Bourdain one was missing some of the rich flavor of the Le Creuset one (which is a somewhat easier and quicker version of the classic Childs recipe). (Farewell to AB, may he find what he was searching for, and most of all, may his daughter find comfort, and in time a way to move forward.) I do wish the house didn't still smell so strongly of the dish, though. Going to have to air it out and boil some dried orange peel with spices, and maybe burn a little dried cedar, to counteract the lingering beefy, winey aroma (a whole bottle of pinot noir! I boiled it without the lid to seriously reduce/eliminate the alcohol before popping it in the oven).
Happily, I have lost 6.6 pounds since last Monday! I'm so delighted with that!
Today is my dad's birthday. He was an amazing person, brilliant, gifted, and very missed. It's been 29 years since his death, and I'm now just 2 years shy of how old he lived to be! How'd that happen?! I think of him, and of my beautiful mom, every single day, and miss them both, and suspect I always will.
QOTD: Hard to say. Being a model was kind of fun and sometimes exciting. Later, I liked my various jobs in advertising. After struggling to support myself and my little boy as a fine artist (I made money, but not enough by far), I found advertising interesting and much more lucrative. I did just about everything at one point or another: design, illustration, copywriting, outside sales, etc. I conceived of and brought out a new publication which was totally my baby and I really enjoyed that! But it showed me that I was bad at delegating, a fundamental skill for the growth of an enterprise. I had a company with a friend way back when, doing decorative painting for both homes and commercial sites, which was fun and not too bad financially. I was the head (actually the only, but that was my title) display artist for a nature musem, and also taught some classes there about herbalism, and about how to make lotions and potions using herbs, and I also led occasional weed and tree identification walks. That was fun but the money was poor, even though they kept giving me raises, it wasn't enough. But it was fun and the setting was incredible. Now with my current company there is a lot of creativity involved, and freedom, which I have found is necessary for me. But I am starting to develop labeling (so fun) and formulas for my next venture - all I need is the money, which will come, and when it does I will be ready! So I guess I can't really say I have a favorite, I am still questing after one!
First: 38 ounces of tea (today's flavor is Bigelow's Salted Caramel. Yum!)
B: ham and smoked gouda
L: boeuf bourguinon
D: more b.b.
S: tuna
Have a wonderful day, my friends!

My mom used to always have a little pot on the stove with orange peel, cinnamon and cloves going. It made that the house smell so good!!
I miss my parents to much and I know it will always be that way. Big hugs to you on your dad's birthday!

Thank you, Amy. I know you understand!
I love that your mom had a pot of pretty fragrance on the stove! Another quick and easy way to nicely scent the house is to tear some bread into pieces and place those into an oven-safe pan. Add a little milk, some sugar, and some vanilla extract, then stir to ensure all of the bread is moistened. Pop it into the oven on !ow. it can stay in there for a long time, scenting the house in a yummy way. You can re-bake this over several days and it will always smell good! It never has whetted my appetite though, thankfully! I put the mixture into one of those disposable loaf pans so when it finally starts having a bit of a burnt scent, I can just toss it away. I never incorporated citrus peels, cloves or cinnamon into this, but I bet it would work well!
Amazing loss! As time went on in my loss, the drops seemed to be more steplike, stalls and drops.
