What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning :)
Nothing super planned for today but I might go check out Value Village and pickup some groceries. I didn't get much accomplished this weekend. The weather was so glorious -- we had all the windows wide open. DH had to work on Sunday so it was a pretty quiet day.
QOTD: my favourite job so far was a co-op position I had at a tech company. I ended up working for the company for three four-month terms over two years. Two of the terms were with the same team and I loved it. I was working in operations and also did some admin for a testing team that had a ton of technical co-op students. It was an awesome blend of things like organizational skills and people skills which was perfect to me. I also got to do some fun projects like setting up three video conferencing rooms using different technogies including a portable projector that was smaller than my wallet. When I tested it I streamed an old Spice Girls concert lol.
Post-op three years and three months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - egg and bun
Lunch - tbd
Snack - carrots and PB
Dinner - leftover beef roast
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Good Morning! I can't believe that it's Monday already. JB, I hope the flooring completion goes well. The weekend went by fast with all sorts of house stuff going on. This is a short week (I am either off Wed-Fri or Thurs-Fri I haven't decided yet) so I need to get through some meetings the next few days. We are running a little ahead on the calendar for getting the house ready. Our flooring isn't scheduled to start until next Monday so until then (aside from the garage and outdoor stuff) we are limited as to what we can move. We did (with the help of my sis and BIL) get most of the ceiling and closets painted. We still need to do the kitchen and bathroom ceilings with different paint and then we will paint the rest before the new flooring gets put in.
Accountability: Pretty standard for the weekend.
QOTD: Probably my first job at Discovery Zone. I don't think there are any still open but basically a kids play place with bounce areas/slides/ball pits/jungle-gym type) that had free play as well as birthday parties. I was a "zone coach", party hostess, front desk receptionist and party coordinator during my almost 3 years there. It was a no-stress job and since all of us were pretty much high school/early college kids we would play around on the equipment after we closed for the day, you know we were "cleaning".

Good morning. Things are going well, though my shoulder is sore - so swimming is out for a few days. I did sign up for personal training at the health club with specific goals to strengthen the core and my weak areas (incl shoulder). That starts in a week. I got all the vacation weight off, so that was a great weigh-in this week. I'm doing CAMAW to get some of the remaining carby habits back out of my diet. I do find that vacations really do through off the carby side of where I want to be. I'll have to deal with that in Oct when we go back to the cabin. Cowboy Christmas in Vegas won't be as hard. Oh I tried something new to me yesterday - Sprouted Watermelon seeds. What a great fat source and somewhat higher in protein vs other nuts - tasted great on my salad for dinner. I'm sure the basic nuts are still better, but I can't chew hard nuts right now and these are about as soft as sunflower seeds, so I'm happy since I can't get all my teeth bac****il late this year.
QOTD - that's easy. Between my sophomore and junior college years I worked at a day camp. I spent half the summer as Director of Boating and Fishing. The second half of the summer I was the day camp counselor for the 5 year olds. That's the best age. You can waste an hour searching for the coolest rock found. They really were a lot of fun. I made no money that summer - I think it was under $2/hr when you incl bus time as a supervisor, but it was a fun 8 weeks. It paid for my books that next fall and provided spending money for the summer.
B - 2 scrambled eggs and 1 pork sausage
S - 6 oz Fage plain 0% and third scoop of PB Quest Protein powder
L - 3.5 oz turkey and small salad
S - Mini Babybel light cheese
D - 3 oz BBQ and small salad
Oh great news too - Friday my Hemonc took me off the Coumadin. Weight loss lowered the risk enough to Dx it. But all my docs said they want me to maintain my veg profile as if I was still on it. They like my one to two small dark green salads a day. It does keep me full and I find it very satisfying - so I decided to comply.

Good Morning Julia and Menu Family!
Happy Birthday to Grim!!!
QOTD: I've loved ALL the jobs I've ever had. Most have been creative jobs in some way or another. I think my favorite was my first job as a sacker/ stocker, sign maker at a grocery store. Everyone who worked there was like one big family and we hung out together after work and had parties. We even built a parade float and entered it in a contest together. I made the signs and banners and displays and they let me get creative and use artwork on them and we won several national display contests. This led to me starting my own sign making business that I ran out of my home.
Other interesting jobs I had were working at a T-shirt / head shop in Colorado in the 1970's, selling items I didn't even know what they were used for! I was a display artist for a store and a flower arranger. For 17 years I was the manager of a picture framing shop which was nice because I had access to the mat cutter and framing tools and could frame my own artwork on my spare time.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 90, Calories - 1,310, Carbs - 178.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: chicken cold cuts & cheese on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt
D: Healthy Choice turkey meal
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana
E: walking Blossom
Have a fantastic day everyone!

Good morning everyone,
My weekend was pretty uneventful due to the rain all weekend but I did manage to find a great home gym type weight machine on facebook marketplace for $80 so I borrowed my dad's truck and DH and I went to pick it up. it took us about 4 hours for this whole process considering its a 45 min drive to my parents' house, then another 35 mins away to the sellers' house and then we had to go to the hardware store to rent an appliance dolly to get it into our house and down to the basement. It was slightly disassembled and didn't have a manual so i found one online and ended up putting it all back together by myself while DH was at the hardware store returning the dolly (i swore a lot but i felt accomplished after!). I am looking forward to getting more weight training into my regimen...it will break up the monotony and let me build some much needed muscle tone/strength.
Sunday we were out shopping most of the day--just because the rain foiled our plans for yard work, so we spent more money than we should've but it wasn't terrible. DH got a pair of pants 4 sizes down from where he was before surgery a month ago, and I got a few tops in size XL which I am hoping will fit for a few more months at least (most 3XL's used to be tight). I also was able to put on the smallest pants that were in my closet (didn't fit 2 weeks ago) and they fit now. I ordered them several years ago thinking I was going to lose enough weight but they weren't stretchy at all like I thought, so they never fit- they still have tags on them!
QOTD: I think most of my jobs have had ups and downs. My current job has changed a lot (been here 9 years) and I think right at this moment I am happier than I have been previously. I mainly do scheduling and insurance verification/pre-auth's for a large orthopedic group...but I would not say I love it. I like the people I work with, and I like my hours but I don't really like the actual job duties. I've been doing it long enough though that I feel very confident and comfortable with it (not necessarily great being complacent). I did enjoy when I was Student teaching high school kids during college (Art Education), but I HATED the politics involved and could not see myself enjoying a job as a teacher just because of that. I was young and naive though, so who knows how I would feel now if I went back for some refreshers and tried again. always in the back of my mind.
My favorite jobs are usually the freelance ones I do for people needing some kind of artwork. I painted a child's rocking "horse" once--made it into a glittery purple tiger and it was super cool! I also do a lot of portraiture and I usually love doing those.
Morning: coffee w/half PP
I may have another with the other half later if I feel like I need it.
B: greek L&F yogurt
L: leftover ribeye from last night's dinner & cheesy vegetable medley
S: turkey meat stick & string cheese
D: chicken cesar/cottage cheese lettuce wrap
have a fantastic Monday everyone!

Good morning everyone! I made it through the weekend. I feel like I have a graduation hangover! Thursday night was the awards dessert banquet, Friday was a BBQ at my house with 50 plus people and Saturday was graduation. It was a very emotional weekend. Yesterday I took a nap!
Today I am going to go to town and set myself up to be successful this week with food.
QOTD- My favorite job would probably be the job I have now. I run a non-profit meal site for seniors. I love what I do. It is very much like family.
Plan for today-
B- 2 eggs
S- chomps if needed
L- salad bar at Chucks Produce while out shopping. Turkey, boiled egg, and 2 cherry tomatoes
D- I have been craving fish, so I am thinking grilled halibut.
Have a great day everyone!! Be kind and stay focused.
Good morning everyone. It?s been a few months since I?ve posted but trying to get back in the swing again. Hope everyone is doing well. I?m a little over 6 months post op now. And 2 pounds shy of the 100?s. Currently down 112# right now.
QOTD: I love my job now as a CMA at a busy allergy practice but when I was younger my first job was at McDonald?s on the Navy base and it was RIGHT in front of the barracks where the young single guys lived. So that was a fun job lol!
breakfast: priemere shake
lunch: salami, provolone, and pickle wraps and 1/2 bag of quest chips
dinner: I took chicken out but not sure what I?m doing with it.
cant wait to go back and read and see how everyone has been, hope you all have a great day.

Good Monday morning all~ We had a lovely weekend! It was full of fun, relaxation, spring cleaning, good food, planning and meeting my current daily activity goals - yay! Seriously working on bumping up my activity in general and taking every extra step I can possibly get. I am getting work out fever again! I think I've been avoiding it for 6-8 mo now? So much has been going on this past year, but now things are settling to a new normal and I'm starting to feel better. I will find a way!
QOTD - The toughest, yet coolest job I ever had was at Miss Florence Diner in Mass. It was an old railroad car and I worked the counter - I was 19. They used the old fashioned diner lingo, wish I could remember it all but there was wreck em', keep it moo'ing, burn em' and make em' cry!
Accountability - I was good, but it was really tough. I had to white knuckle it a bit.
18mo+ post op - 165.8
b- coffee x2, HB eggs
l-pork loin chop, coleslaw
d-chicken w/spinach salad
s-jello
e-walk walk walk
Have a great day!

Good morning,
Happy Birthday Grim!!
My weekend was good except for my friends nephew hung himself Saturday morning. He was on life support and they declared him brain dead yesterday so the family took him off last night. Thanks for the prayers over the weekend. I feel bad for my friend, she is in Florida until Sunday and can't be with her sister.
Yesterday I went to church and a graduation party. Ate too much yesterday and had cake twice.
I start my new job at 1 pm today. Hope I like it and have patience with the kiddos.
Qotd I really like some parts of the job, home healthcare aide. I liked the clients but got to involved with them. Didn't like the driving all over the country side.
B ham and cheese omelette, string cheese and pork and beans
L keto lasagna and honeycrisp apple
D protein bar since I think I'll go to support group tonight.
Have a good day
