What are your favorite jerkies or meat sticks?
I keep trying different types of jerky to take as snacks when I am out and don't want to depend on finding something on plan. I've found that alot of them have significant amounts of added sugar and are very high in sodium. That said, I like that they are good dense protein for snacks.
What brands, varieties, etc. do you like and that are lower in sugars? Where do you get them?
Thanks for any ideas!

I love the chomps from Trader Joe?s. 100 calories, 9 grams of protein, 0 carbs, 0 sugars. I also buy the Epic Siracha chicken bar at Trader Joe?s. They are right next to the chomps. It's a bit spicy. 100 calories, 15 protein, 1 carb, 0 sugar.
I've tried the salmon jerky from TJ's but not the chomps. I'll have to look for them.

I love Caveman Primal, especially the chicken bacon. I get them from Caveman (sign up for emails as they send promos quarterly - I got 20 off from them on this box). Other is Ostrim Buffalo Chicken that OH sells and I also get from Netrition.com. Great profile and taste.

I have a local brand (Cattaneo Bros) that is 0 sugar and really good IMO. They are available online directly or Amazon has it too. I like the extra thin cut in regular, mesquite, black pepper and hot pepper. Not cheap, but I buy the 12/1oz package. The 1 oz package is nice for portion control

I always have these with me. They are 100 calories, 15g protein, 1 carb, 0 sugar. They are spicy but I like that cause it slows me down and it's very filling. They have it at our local grocery store but they are also at Trader Joe's and Walgreens I believe.

I started making my own! That way, I know it's not too high in sugar, and I can control the amount of sodium. I picked up a dehydrator on Amazon for about $40, and I make one batch every week.
I posted my recipe here, but it's pretty easy to make your own. Just pick some sauce that you like (hot sauce is lower carb than BBQ), add some premixed seasoning, marinate overnight, and you're good to go!
