What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Happy Friday JB and menu folks!
JB, sounds like you have all been working very hard and the pictures are impressive. A few days off might be a good idea if you can rest a bit.
Yesterday, I got my last drain out and I go back to see the PS on Monday to see if I am retaining fluids enough that they need to put another one back in. In the meantime, I am back on severe activity restrictions, 2 blocks only at a time! If all goes well, I will go back to the office for a half day on Tuesday and work my way back. I am concerned because being in the office involves alot more walking and movement even on light duty so I will have to be careful. Otherwise, my body is healing well and I am happy.
QOTD: I still love Pink Floyd and Janis Joplin, but sing along to lots of 70s and early 80s songs.
My picture is a very sad one. One of my friends fosters and feeds bottle-baby kittens for a local rescue group. This kitten, Sookie, was dropped off at the rescue almost dead where someone had dumped it in a trashcan. The vets and my friend worked hard for 24 hours to rehydrate and feed Sookie, but she was too sick by the time they got her to keep anything down and get better. She was only 6 weeks old and weighed only .38 pounds. Whoever had her had obviously starved her and not given her anything to drink for a long time. She didn't make it and it makes me very sad and mad that people treat helpless animals like that and then just literally throw them away! Give your fur kids extra love and water today in honor of Sookie. Sorry to be a bummer!
Menu: still pushing protein like mad but having to eat smaller portions because I get full more quickly.
Breakfast: ham, hard boiled egg
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, apple, almonds
Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots
Snack: turkey breast, blueberries, cashews
Dinner: probably more chicken or shrimp
Exercise: just around the house

That picture/story makes me so sad. How can people do this?

I agree! She was just a tiny baby and if they didn't want her, they could have taken her to a rescue while she still had a chance! Here's the picture that my friend sent in response to her death...

That's really sad to hear.
My niece took in a disabled kitten and has to help him go to the bathroom. But he's growing to be a good cat. It amazes me when I see him.
