Oh my gosh! We do not have snow blowers here in SC, but if I ever am around one somewhere else, I will NOT stick my hand in it, lol. Yikes!

Your story reminded me about my dad weed-whacking his face when I was a kid. It was like in a cartoon... it was stuck, so he held it close to take a look at what was clogging it and of course, it started up. Aaaaahhh.

If I were you I'd use that story as an excuse to move somewhere warm and never use a snowblower again.

Floor looks great! I'm so impressed you guys can do that! Even some professionals don't do it the old-fashioned way anymore - last time we had a hardwood floor installed (six years ago), they used factory-finished boards (first time we did - 20 years ago- they did it like you did - did all the sanding, finishing, etc - it looked fabulous, though - still does!)

I went to urgent care yesterday because I was getting tired of the slight dizziness, nausea, headache I've had for the last week. They did a bunch of tests and also tested me for orthostatic hypotension. Nope, nope, and nope. So I don't know what's going on. The nurse practioner told me to make an appt with my PCP by the end of the week for more extensive testing. The dizziness, etc isn't particularly bothersome - it's just not the norm for me. Something isn't right. But I don't know if it's worth all this hassle to track down the cause. At least I now know it's nothing critical. Well, we'll see how I'm feeling about this later on today. Right now, I'm fine with just putting up with it awhile longer.

QOTD: I can't really think of anything really painful I've had. I broke my ankle last year, but I injured the nerve that goes down into my leg at the same time, so the leg was numb for about six months (still is slightly), so I never really felt much of the pain. Never had kids. The only surgery I've had was RNY, and that wasn't painful, either. Hmmm...

3 years out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with chocolate protein powder, strawberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein latte shake

L: cottage cheese and strawberries

D: Caribbean pork and veggie stir fry (no rice)

ex: Pilates

Oh no! I hope they figure out what is causing the problems soon! Take gentle care.

it's pretty mild right now, but I did notice that it started up during Pilates class. Usually in the morning, I do my PT exercises - but about 2/3 of them are core-related, so I skipped those knowing that I'd get more than enough of a core workout in Pilates. Now I wonder if thrashing my head around with these exercises in the morning might be causing or at least affecting it. I think I'll try doing my PT exercises before bed for a few days and see if it improves - and also, cutting back a bit on caffeine. Odd that this has never happened before, but also odd that it started up during Pilates. And I do do my PT stuff as soon as I get up in the morning - so that may have been setting it off. Anyway, it's very weird.

Hope you get to,the bottom,of this. Feeling dizzy is awful. I have vertigo and if it gets bad, I get nauseated. Feel better!

I LOVE those floors! Want to go into business installing/refinishing floors (LOL)? Too bad ibuprofen is off the table, huh? That's what I would have taken pre-WLS when suffering after that kind of work.

We are fully booked for our September Scotland/Ireland/Paris tour. I'm so excited! It will be hard for DH but it is kind of a now or never trip for him. Oh, and we leave for Aruba in 3 days!

QOTD: I think the most pain was when I woke up after surgery for an ectopic pregnancy (laparotomy, not laparoscopic in those days). They let me wake up before medicating me for the pain! I have never had that happen since then (pain medications were managed well for subsequent operations including WLS). I thought my TT would be the same because it was essentially the same cut but wider, but it was nothing compared to the ectopic surgery (again, better pain management). BUT, I forgot about giving birth to eldest DD (I only gave birth once, all others were adopted). I do remember thinking at one point that I was done and couldn't do it anymore. However, I was only 17 and that was almost 46 years ago so who knows?

Accountability: Really good this week as I am trying to get low in my range before Aruba. I seem to be stuck at the same weight in the middle of my range though. LOL, stubborn body... I'm okay with it here, but would really like another pound off to be at the same point as when we went to Aruba last year.

2 Years, 2 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 18 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad with pickles, cottage cheese

D: Short-rib leftovers (second half of meal DS provided from his restaurant - first half was great)

S: yogurt
