I've gone back and forth with ground meat too. Right now I just can't do beef. I had ground turkey breast the other night with no problem. Looking at my list, all these things are on the fattier side... I wonder if that is it.

I can't stand the odor of bacon cooking/baking right now...I don't like it in my condo or on my clothes but I like to eat it....so once a week I do bacon for the week...whatever I have planned using bacon...then I drain it, put it in a container and it goes in the refrigerator. It gets used during the week... my counters, stove and clothes get cleaned = no smell ....also for some reason my pouch is plugging on 93/7 lean hamburger...and it is well chewed!!! I don't plug very often but if it's really uncomfortable I just swallow some mineral oil...my surgeon told me a long time ago that it would either help it go down or help it come out...so far it mostly makes me barf....

The last few times I've cooked bacon I was on the fence about the smell and taste, but I pushed through! This last weekend, I couldn't handle it. There is left over bacon in the fridge still and I actually shudder when I look at it.

I haven't plugged in a while-knock on wood... I so hate that.

Today is the big day! I start stage 4, the lifelong stage of eating. I am scared to death if I am honest, scared of getting sick, of chest pain from eating too fast, of finding my own way with food after weeks and weeks of everything being spelled out. I have not messed up once since the start of the preop diet but this just feels like minefield.

What's worse is I tried mentioning it to my husband last night... he is normally crazy supportive and understanding, but his sister gets into town tonight and work is stressing him out so he barely listened to me. I know once his sisters family is gone he will be back to normal but that is nearly 2 weeks of being on this stage kinda alone.

Qotd: I get migraines regularly, I used to play all kinds of sports and I taught ice skating to 3 year old who liked to kick at you with toe picks. Injuries were a common thing, but never anything major or even particularly painful. Heck I was once hit by a small white Mitsubishi.

Nothing compares though to one time when I was brushing my teeth and I bent slightly to rinse. Something in my lower back went like a guitar string breaking. That was instant agony. I managed to get about 12 feet from the sink to just in front of my bed when I hit the floor hard. Spasms shook me for about an hour. I was nothing but pain laying on the floor. After that first hour I was able to think around the pain enough to get my phone out of my pocket and text my husband that he needed to come home. He did but it took another 3 hours to get me off the floor and into bed. I was out for 3 solid months after that one.

Accountability: Another good day, and today is also my last day of antibiotics! Vitamins tomorrow!

G'morning all!

Julia - I gotta say your animal pics always make me laugh. So thank you for that. I love the light wood, it brings so much brightness to the room. It is GORGEOUS!!!

Well, don't know if you heard but we had the jungle primaries in CA yesterday. I was working at the polls all day (6:00 am - 10:00 pm) and I gotta say I never feel closer to my adopted country than election days. I always volunteer, because I believe in the system, especially coming from Italy with our corrupted government that we can't fix no matter how many times we try. Anyway, back to CA...it was crazy yesterday and I loved it. Talk about sore muscles, I was standing all day and my ankles and feet are sore today. I also got an NSV. The polling place was in a church hall, so high ceilings. It was cold and most people kept their coats on until noon when the sun finally warmed up the hall. I still kept mine on and kept shivering. One lady said "well of course you are shivering, you have no insulation!" It made me laugh so much. If they only had seen me 11 months ago. I had plenty of insulation back then.

QOTD: kidney stones and didn't know. Drove to work feeling a pain on my side. Had to pull over to throw up (sorry TMI), still thought maybe I ate something bad last night, and drove on to work. Had to go to the ladies room and supposedly a woman found me on the floor passed out. I have no recollection. Ambulance, hospital, they give me something to take the pain away. When the effect wore off I asked if I could have it again. The nurse said "young lady, we can't give you morphine willy nilly"...wow, never had morphing before, I can see why people get hooked on it. The effect, the pain free feeling was IMMDEIATE!

B: Egg frittata

L: protein shake

S: Parmesan cheese

D: TBD, protein forward

Happy hump day!

I was watching the reporting on all of the election returns, especially those in California, nervously. I am impressed that you volunteer - thank you for doing so! I think I should follow suit.

The floors look nice and tight...they ought to be beautiful...more pictures please! Such a skill to be able to do it right. Birdseye maple is such a gorgeous wood...truly an ambitious project. Wow

QOTD worst pain for me would have to be my left total knee replacement last summer.... I think I managed to do everything wrong that I could have done wrong after the surgery.... it was not a nice one! I plan on my right tkr being much much better... at least I know what to expect. Tuck.

B 1 egg bite

L 2 oz hamburger, 1/2 c plain yogurt

D 3 oz salmon,

Sorry I haven't been menu posting as work has been nuts and I was on vacation last week (not much phone or internet connectivity up there). I gained 2, but that should be gone by now - as I'm back to accountable eating.

QOTD interested me, so I thought I'd post up. I'll never forget the moment. It was during one of my running phases and I went to a running camp in Michigan in the mid-eighties. They decided to do a mini-triathlon as a fun capstone activity for the week. So we had to swim half a mile, bike 15 miles and then run 3.5 miles cross country. I did all those things, so why not. Well I never strung them together into one activity. As I transitioned from the bike to the run (which was a cross-country train run and started by running up a small mountain trail) - I was in so much pain that I was actually crying for the first mile and a half. I couldn't move the rest of the day. Hurts just thinking about it.

A more recent example - The other time was when I was over 500 pounds and my back went out causing my hip to shift and pull down low. I couldn't move because the pain intensity. Imagine putting 500 pounds on top of an irritated nerve. It was so painful that I couldn't get to the bathroom during the day (don't ask how I managed the day). My chiropractor had to make a house call - she doesn't normally do that. We occasionally joke about that day during treatments. Wow, things are so different now.
