So Discouraged

Most people take about a year to reach their goal. The rapid loss you see in the first few months is NOT sustainable.

The standard pattern we see on OH is rapid loss in weeks 1 and 2, a "three week stall" with no loss for a week or more, and then a slow and steady loss of 1 - 2lb per week over the course of 9 months to a year.

You're discouraged by this? You should be dancing!

You should also strap yourself in, because the likelihood of losing 17 pounds in a three week span again are extremely remote.

I am a RN and did bariatric nursing for 7 years. So I have seen dramatic weight loss results happen in first month. I myself had gastric bypass on May 14. Today is 3 weeks and here is my weight loss. Starting weight 207.

1st week 8 lbs

2nd week 6 lbs

3rd week 3 lbs

today will be first day off liquid diet. Is my metabolism that slow. Wouldn't even believe it possible on less than 400 -500 calories a day.

you don't list your height, but it sounds like you aRe a "light weight" someone who has a relatively small amount to lose.

Light weights lose less quickly in the beginn8ng than someone who has hundReds of pounds to lose.

From your other posts,it looks like you only needed to lose about 50pounds total,is that correct?

if so, you will probabl3 Rey goal in 6-9 months if you stay completely on program.

she deactivated? Did I miss something?

It saddens me when people choose deactivation. So much information is available here.

I think that you've hit the nail on the head here and am embarrassed that I was fished in by this ridiculousness.
