So Discouraged
on 6/4/18 6:26 am
I am a RN and did bariatric nursing for 7 years. So I have seen dramatic weight loss results happen in first month. I myself had gastric bypass on May 14. Today is 3 weeks and here is my weight loss. Starting weight 207.
1st week 8 lbs
2nd week 6 lbs
3rd week 3 lbs
today will be first day off liquid diet. Is my metabolism that slow. Wouldn't even believe it possible on less than 400 -500 calories a day.
If you don't mind me asking...wasn't most of the dramatic weight loss results you witnessed in patients with a higher BMI than yours? (for example, my BMI was in the 60's and I melted like a snowman but there was a lot of me to melt) Edited to say after seeing your deactivation, "Best Wishes for more encouraging days ahead and Endless Thank Yous to nurses like you that took care of people like me."

You have lost 17 lbs in 3 weeks. I think you're doing great!!!
17 lbs in 3 weeks with a starting weight of 207 - sounds great to me.
Just curious what you were expecting?
Your starting weight was similar to mine and I was ecstatic with my 1st month loss of 20.

I'm really not trying to be mean, snarky, etc. But what did you expect? Did anyone tell you what average weight loss patterns are like? I think you're doing great and your first month's loss blows me out of the water. Are you really discouraged that it might take a few months to lose 40 lbs???
Again, I think you're doing great
