What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
29 days 'til retirement!! YAY!! And a low key week this week at work - hope the rest of the month is, too!
I was planning to go to a 7:30 Pilates class this morning, but 7:30 has come and gone. I really need to be up by 6:00 to make it. Too many other things I need to do before I leave the house in the morning. I'm going to a meditation class over the lunch hour today - I went to this one last week and fell in love with it. It's a new-ish class - the instructor brings all kinds of gongs and Tibetan singing bowls and plays them while we're meditating. It's heaven. I've been looking forward to it for the last couple of days. I also emailed the studio over the weekend and told them how much I love that class and if the instructor ever decides to leave, they simply MUST replace her so the class can continue!
accountability - my MIL left on Saturday, so it's back to normal eating. I could have done better Saturday and yesterday, but it was OK. At least I'm back down under 150 lbs this morning. Thank God. Shooting for 145 by August 10 (when I have plastic surgery).
QOTD: I think we had 732 in our graduating class. At any rate, it was over 700. I really didn't know very many people in my class because we moved during my junior year, and all of my friends that year (at the new high school) were seniors. Several of them stayed in the area for college (I lived in Raleigh, NC at the time - there are many colleges and universities around there), so I still hung out with them even after they graduated (and I was still in high school). So I really didn't know too many people. We had the graduation at some big place in downtown Raleigh - a coliseum or something. My immediate family was there, as well as my boyfriend at the time (who graduated with the class ahead of me). I can't remember if any of my extended family was there or not - and I can't remember if we did anything after the ceremony. I suppose we did, but I'm really blanking on this..
3 years out! (as of yesterday):
B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade cranberry/cherry sauce
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: leftover Chinese food
AS: I may just eat dinner early since I have a meeting tonight. Probably turkey taco meat with the fixin's.
Good Morning! Late start this morning since my computer had an update and then needed a restart but it took a long time. Our weekend was decent but went by way to quick. JB, good luck on the interviews today-I know you have a plan already but it's awesome that you have so many options.
Accountability: On track all weekend long.
QOTD: Graduation was in an arena and it took quite awhile to get through everyone-I think graduating class was around 300 but I don't remember exactly since I was more focused on getting married...a story for another day, but I got married 2 days after graduation.
Time since surgery: 3 years 9 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: Cottage cheese with sliced strawberries and Krave sesame garlic beef stick
D: Pineapple and jalapeno chicken burger, spinach salad (Bleu cheese, walnuts and Skinnygirl raspberry vinaigrette dressing) and 2 squares dark chocolate
ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal
E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:1228 Protein:117 Carbs:72 Fat:57
Have a great one!
I was already married by graduation (1st marriage) as was my best friend. Both of us ultimately had divorces but great marriages ultimately. DH and I celebrate 37 years in a couple of months.

My weekend didn't happen as planned. Ended up helping my long time friend prepare stuff for her DIL baby shower next weekend. She's also moving in a month to Virginia, so it was good to spend time with her. Sunday I had forgotten I had said I would go to a Memorial Service for the husband of one of the women at the WLS support group at my hospital. She is 10+ years out from surgery and has always been very supportive to me.
QOTD: Never even went to one of my graduation ceremonies-high school, college or graduate school. I graduated high school in a class of like 750 kids.
B: coffee, overnight oats
B2: protein pancake
L: grilled chicken on salad
D: shrimp and pollack seafood medley, spinach
S: trail mix, protein powder
ex: gym- more a conditioning day, then want to go back to yoga tonight

Good morning! I'm glad you had a great trip JB! It got me to thinking of what I can do better foodwise next time I visit my son (in 3 weeks). I am only going one night this time and by myself. Solo may be easier to manage so I'm gonna plan my a$$ off this time! I had a very nice weekend very relaxing, actually too much down time if there is such a thing? I need a bit more activity and new Netflix. I've finished all my shows and need to find some new ones!
QOTD - My graduation class was about 180 kids. My best friend and my boyfriend were in the balcony of the venue and keep screaming my name - I was SO embarrassed. There were a few Amy's in my class so I'd like to believe no one really knew which Amy those crazy kids were yelling about!! I don't recall anyone getting a car, but I'm sure some of them did.
Accountability - I was an angel - unless you count a bite of the amazing Belgian waffle w/berries I stole from DH, then not so much
18mo post op - 170.1 - I'm getting there...
b-coffee x3, 2 HB eggs
l-grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, onions, parmesan cheese
d-chicken taco salad
v/l - on track
Have a wonderful day!

Even though homemade protein smoothies aren't a dense protein, I am making them during the short, summer days here; they are as healthy and as dense as possible, though (frozen berries, banana, spinach, wheat germ, kefir) Speaking of healthy food, my Mother's Day gift was a grow-your-own micro green kit ordered from POCKETFARM Minnesota. QOTD: graduated in 1978 where honor student status was a certain top percentage of the entire class; the principal was annoyed I made the cut because he knew I never studied a day in my life. My non-academic brain received the John Philip Sousa Award.
So glad it is only going to get to 90° today and the humidity is lower. I do not like to sweat, lol.
QOTD I moved from a strict school system to a state that had a sucky system so consequently I went from a b student to graduating 4th in my class! I gave the benediction. Now the kicker is, there were only 76 students, haha. Not too hard to make the cut. But it looked good on my college apps!
4 weeks post op 235.8 lbs
Yesterday-cal 559, prot 77, carbs 26, fat 17. Fly8ds on target, all vits. Today I move to soft foods. B 1st tea with half and half then cottage cheese and hummus. L deviled egg and green beans. D chicken breast and zuchinni. Snacks protein shake.
Have a great Monday!
