Nice to hear from you and you look great! It is hard at first to be an empty nester, but then you get used to it. And then sometimes they return and mess up your routine!

Happy Friday! It's wedding weekend. My brother is getting married tomorrow, so the food fest begins tonight. I'm hosting the rehearsal dinner at their favorite mexican restaurant. I can eat pretty well there, if I put my mind to it. The only downside is they make fresh from scratch, by hand tortillas. They can be damned hard to resist, but I'm going to try. The alcohol isn't a problem since I know it will screw with my blood sugar. As long as I can keep fresh hot tortillas at the other end of the table, I'll be fine. Tomorrow I'll start my day with a run, but that's it. I won't have time to get my weightlifting or boxing class in. I have a hair and makeup appt at 10, since we need to be at the venue at 2. I know I shouldn't have this attitude, but as far as food goes tomorrow, I'm not going to stress about it. I'm going to adopt the attitude that my pouch won't let me go overboard and my hypoglycemia won't let me kill myself with sugar. It's probably a bad approach, but I have so many other things to worry about, I figured if I cut myself some slack this ONE day, I'll be fine.

My plan: Given wedding activities, there isn't much of a plan today.

B: Bacon

L: ??? probably none. I have to leave work at 12:45 to get a car wash, pick up my mom's outfit for tomorrow then go pick her up for a 2:00 manicure appointment before heading to Santa Monica at 5. If there's time after nails, I'll pick up a snack.

D: Probably the insides of carne asada tacos. Hopefully no homemade tortilla deliciousness

S: I stopped and got a latte.

Hi All.. A little late to the party today. Work has been a train wreck of busy.... I got half way to work yesterday before I realized that it was only Thursday and had to run to WalMart and buy pants because I had jeans on and Friday is jeans day. My boss laughed and said you would have been fine but I did not want to listen to old biddy's complaining that I got to wear jeans on a Thursday.

Have a fun trip JB!!! Where is this burger place? We are always looking for new places when we go visit Emily in DC.

My food for the day is also unknown other than the two packages of yogurt that I have in the fridge at work one for breakfast and one for lunch.. I told hubby he is taking me out for dinner where I can have a glass of wine....

My picture is one some might have seen on Facebook... One side is when Emily graduated high school in June of 2014 and the other is when she graduated college a couple of weeks ago. I have been feeling really discouraged lately but seeing this guess I should be proud of how far I have come... Also, Emily pointed out that in one picture I am smiling and one I am not and I should have been smiling in 2014 my little girl had just graduated as Valedictorian of her class... What a difference it makes when you are happy in your own skin!

So I was supposed to be up and at em super early. I should now be at an awesome fabric sale with a friend. I even went to bed early last night! The best intentions though... Our smoke detector decided an hour into my sleep to go off for no reason. It then continued to go off every hour or so for the rest of the night. It was AWFUL! Around 3am my husband seemed to get them to reset. At that point though it was all over, I was so upset I couldn't fall back asleep. So I sent my friend a frustrated email cancelling. No new fabric for me!

But because of the bad night it means I get to post here today! This picture is the sweetheart *****ceived my newest quilt last week. She was supposed to get it when she was born, but with back pain etc. she instead got it at about 6 months. Apparently, it is a big hit...and I nearly cried a little bit when I saw how touched her Mom was to be given it. She definitely cried.

Accountability: Spot on again, and todays menu will be the same as yesterday minus the seafood snacker sticks, siggi's yogurt instead!
