Good morning all! JB you look fantastic! I struggle with eating while traveling and without a plan I'm just plain dangerous. I hope your trip goes better than mine did. I am back on track and looking forward to a very relaxing weekend that starts at noon today, yay! We may go to the beach tomorrow and do some shopping but that's about it and that makes me very happy.
Accountability - I was an angel! Feeling a bit less bloated as well - all good.

He's doing the best he can. The latest text was "it sucks, but I'm adjusting - love you mama"

Happy Friday friends. Thought I would drop in and say hello. I've had a crazy busy several months and haven't had time to log in much. Glad to see you are all doing well and gearing up for summer.
My photo is from the beginning of the month when we took a day trip to Galveston Beach. I had never been to the beach here in Texas and didn't expect to like it since I grew up sailing in the Florida Keys and the Caribbean Islands...Gulf water? Ewww! Turns out...it was beautiful and I had a wonderful time.
Today my youngest child is graduating from high school and I am teary and emotional. Empty Nest is upon me! I know I will adjust but right now I am sniffly. As I drove him to the high school this morning for graduation rehearsal I asked him if he and I could just run away and join the circus together. He laughed and told me I would be alright. I only cried half the way to the school.
Menu and weight are really doing well. I am still maintaining 130 pounds comfortably. I still eat every three hours to help prevent my blood sugar crashing. Even with careful eating and planning I still have low blood sugar episodes about once a week. Now I have learned to feel it earlier and keep an emergency snack with me just in case. I usually catch it with a BS of 70 now instead of 40. Average days I eat about 1500 calories with the general goal of eating protein first, no drinking with food, low fat, low sugar and a protein to calorie ratio goal of 1:10. This has become a habit for me and I meal plan, prep and pack meals daily. I don't log or count and haven't for the last 6 months at least. I do still weigh every morning and every night as accountability. If the scale moves in the wrong direction (up or down more than 2 pounds) then I adjust my meals and snacks to reflect what my body needs. It is still mindful just like right after surgery but it does not feel obsessive or consuming. I feel pretty much like an average Joe going through life eating without it being a problem or concern. I am so grateful everyday for my RNY!
First two piece swimsuit ever! FYI...I did not put on sunscreen and yes I did in fact burn! Sooooooo burnt. I think I finally have stopped peeling...mostly.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Happy Summer,
~Elizabeth
