What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

just a quickie for now since we have to meet the moms in 20 minutes (my mom and my MIL). I took the day off today so I can go with them scouting out apartments for my MIL. This is their third day of doing it, and I'm sure they're getting sick of it!! They all sort of blend together after awhile, I would think..

congrats on the "new" job, JB!! What a relief. Plus it's a known environment, since you've worked there before. Always a plus. You never know when you go into a brand new environment what it's going to be like - great or toxic! But you've been there and really like it there, so...

I don't feel as bloated this morning (thankfully since we had Chinese food again last night!). Weight is the same, but at this point, I'll take it. Hopefully it'll be down a bit by tomorrow.

QOTD: I was of "fad age" in the late 60s and 70s. Mood rings, huge bell bottoms, halter tops, platform shoes. Oh - and maxi skirts were big for a year or two. I'm not sure that I had a favorite - although I did love my beige platform sandals (everyone had those!) with mid-calf skirts (I really hated that length when it first came out - everyone was wearing mini skirts before that - but I grew to love them)

2 years 11 months out:

B: homemade greek yogurt with protein powder and raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein chocolate latte shake

L: ??

D: ??

I'm sticking to safe things - my weight is still above my range this morning, so it'll be protein, protein, protein for the next few days...

I had a pair that looked a lot like these. In fact, I think every girl in my school had a pair of these:

YES! I had some exactly like that, but $140 now???

Clearly we are the same generation with the same tastes! Did you ever wear culottes or the opposite (hot pants)? I could do all that stuff when very young before the big weight creep started in full earnest.

I know! I was shocked when I saw that price!

I'm a little younger than you (58), but same generation. And yep - I wore culottes and hot pants, too!!!

Good Morning and Yay for Friday-Eve! JB, I am so happy for you that everything seems to be falling into place nicely. Such awesome news.

I am happy to report that after my run-in with the stair machine yesterday and being sore most of yesterday I was able to run this morning. I hurt in strange places like under my rib cage, my armpit and lower back but I am grateful that is all!

Accountability: On plan

QOTD: I am with you on the jelly shoes and all that...but man didn't those things get stinky! I also loved my Esprit canvas book bag and have searched for one forever and aside from a few on E-bay once in a awhile (and they were too pricey for not being exactly what I was looking for).

Time since surgery: 3 years 9 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Salami and cheese roll ups and Siggi yogurt

D: Buddig chicken pack, low carb pita, spinach salad (Bleu cheese, walnuts and Skinnygirl raspberry vinaigrette dressing) and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1221 Protein:111 Carbs:75 Fat:57

Have a great one!

Good morning! Posting late (for me) due to morning chaos. Came out to a flat tire (nail) and DH was already gone, so I put my donut on, then had to change my clothes. I will take it to a tire place after work to see if they can patch it.

My blood sugars were creeping back up. Not super high, but enough that my doctor put me back on a low dose of metformin. I feel like a bit of a failure over it, to be honest, but I know it's just a preventative measure to make sure they don't creep higher. I've been keeping carbs under 30 and those are from veg and dairy, but might drop them lower.

Congrats on the job offer, JB!!

qotd: I was really into JNCO jeans. Super wide legs, and pockets big enough you could fit a whole textbook in there. I would never wear those ridiculous things again, but I still look back at them fondly! It was cool when everyone else was wearing them too, and comparing pant leg circumference. Bigger was better!

Breakfast: tried a peaches and cream Premier this morning, but not in my coffee. I liked it and think it might be good blended with ice?

Lunch: apple bourbon pulled pork

dinner: maybe just a salad with chicken and a HB egg.

I am jealous, I never could find JNCO's that fit me, I was too big for even giant jeans back then. LOL

morning everyone!

So happy you got what you wanted with your new Job JB!

I had my first really strong food craving last night - for some reason I wanted a PB sandwich SO BAD, but instead I mixed a tbsp of PBfit with some SF chocolate pudding and it was very satisfying. I only ate about half of it and it was just what I needed.

QOTD: I am such an 80's kid...I was obsessed with Cyndi Lauper as a kid and have never gotten over it. If I could get away with wearing ridiculous poofy skirts with crazy neon colors, lace gloves, lace-up booties and multiple studded belts/bracelets all the way up my arms and giant non-matching earrings, I would do it every day. admittedly, I did wear a lot of these things even after the trends were over (considering I was in High school in the early-mid 90's so these trends were way past my time lol)...I got made fun of a lot in school for wearing weird clothes...but then I found my friend niche with all the crazy freaky weirdo art kids.

Morning: Coffee w/half caramel PP
B: HB egg w/1/4c cottage cheese and some chives
L: crab/bacon/pea salad
S: Greek L&F yogurt
D: probably more leftover sausage egg roll in a bowl

have a great day everyone!
