good morning everyone!

our A/C was fixed when I got home so that was a relief. It kind of sucks, it cost over $600 to fix and we had just paid off our credit cards! I guess that's what credit cards are for though.

QOTD: I don't write many checks but I do still write everything in my checkbook so I can keep track of the budget and plan for expenses. It's just easier for me to grab it and write it down rather than trying to make time to sit down at a computer and enter everything into a spreadsheet.
I also prefer paper calendars to write down appointments and events. I do put them in my phone calendar as well just as a backup but I like to see it written by hand. I read so much that most of my books are in Kindle or audiobook format these days. I like paper books but they do take up a lot of space and the kindle is just so convenient...especially when you finish one and want another right away.
we brought about 10 boxes of books to Half price books when we moved out of our apartment, and we still have 4 full bookshelves.

Morning coffee w/half caramel PP
B: chicken and egg salad with cottage cheese
L: leftover sausage egg roll in a bowl
S: greek L&F yogurt
D: leftover chicken crack

have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Julia and Menu Family!

QOTD: I'm a dinosaur who doesn't own a cell phone, just a land line. I wouldn't mind a cell phone, but since I'm home most of the time I can't justify the monthly expense. I prefer physical books over my kindle and I do wash dishes by hand but only because our dishwasher is broken. I'd much rather do a crossword puzzle on paper.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 79, Calories - 1,455, Carbs - 183.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana

L: chicken cordon bleu, broccoli salad

D: crustless chicken pot pie

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, broccoli salad

E: walking Blossom

Have a wonderful day everyone!

~ Karen

I had been buying some mozzarella/prosciutto sticks from Walmart in Florida and really enjoying them. Two sticks had 120 calories and 170 mg of sodium. I bought some from BJs at home here and one stick has 120 calories and 790 mg of sodium. The sodium is ridiculous and has caused me to gain weight on the days I have them even if my other calories are low. I may have have to ditch these... I guess I have to read nutrition labels more carefully!

The ones I get (from Walmart) have 125 calories for 2 sticks and 170 mg. of sodium. 790 mg. of sodium is ridiculous! WOW!

Yes, crazy isn't it? I'm going to look at the Walmart which just opened just over the bridge to Cape Cod as they have groceries (the one in our town does not).

Happy Wednesday everyone,

I just got back from vacation, and I was so worried about eating well. There were a lot of restaurants, but I was able to make good choices and I stuck to my plan! I was dreading the scale this morning, but I actually lost 4lbs while I was on vacation! Super stoked!

QOTD. I still like to hand write thank you notes and letters. I know that email is quicker and easier, but there is something more special about taking the time to hand write a message.

G'morning all.

Boy, am I happy to be back here. The long weekend took a toll on me. The group of friends who stayed over ate non stop. The funny thing is that not one person is overweight. I was very conscious about what we ate and when, that's when I noticed that during the three day weekend we ate/drank non stop. So how do normal people stay fit? Do they fast after a three day binge? Anyway, after our friends left on Mon evening we had DD's 20th bday yesterday. Have you had a cupcake from Nothing Bundt Cake? I usually don't like cupcakes but this place makes a gourmet cupcake that is to die for. Of course after all the weekend eating DD asks for the cupcakes from this place for her bday. I feel like I need to fast for the rest of the week. I didn't eat as much as everybody else but it was too much for my limits.

QOTD: I still keep wall calendars in the kitchen and office. Does that count? In the past I would put bdays or important deadlines on these calendars but nowadays they stay empty because everything is in my phone. Other than that we are totally digital.

B: protein shake

L: pulled pork

S: yogurt

D: another shake?

Did I say I'm happy the long weekend is over?

I have no earthly clue how normies stay thin after eating crap. I swear to god I can just look at a bag of chips and gain weight.

And I actually live with one. DH has never had a waist bigger than 30". And he was partying with the rest of the group like no big deal. But then he kinda pulls back and I see him not eating much for 2-3 days. I don't think he does it consciously, he just goes with the rhythm. What can I say? I'm not like that. I get emotionally attached to food. Like now with my Parmesan squares.
