Morning, all. So today is the first day in the office without a refrigerator or a microwave. I tried to find an insulated lunch bag at target this weekend, but after circling the store a few times without finding one, I gave up. I'm going to check out Amazon in a bit. So, I bailed on bringing food with me and will likely get chicken from one of the many chicken places around me. I left the house super early because I needed to get an oil change. So, I feel very accomplished for a Tuesday.
JBQOTD: about 1.5 hours. That's so I can take care of myself and the dog. However, I can get up and out of the house in 20 minutes if need be.
My plan:
B: Bacon that I cooked and wrapped in foil before I left the house
L: Chicken???
D: Ribeye
S: Latte (the oil change place is next door to a coffee bean & tea leaf store), something before the gym, although given the lack of refrigeration I don't know what the hell I'm going to have. I need to be better prepared for the Pioneer Days that are ahead of me.
Good afternoon. I'm in a bit of a funk today but don't know why. I'm currently sitting on a beach hoping the sun will "cure" me.
QOTD: I usually allow about two hours so I have extra time to read online, drink coffee, etc. in addition to dressing and showering.
2 Years, 2 months post-op
Always lots of coffee...
B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Emiepie egg salad
D: scallops (not eaten yesterday - I had chicken meatballs instead)
S: yogurt

I was in a funk today, and tried the Vitamin D cure, too... Mixed results. It didn't hurt, but getting a call from an employer helped more!
Oohhh... so curious as to what's happening on the job!

Hi all! Happy Tuesday!
JB, can't wait to hear all about your interview! Not at all surprised here that you nailed it!
I'm down 2.4 lbs. today after a very sluggish week, so yay! That means I've lost a full 10 pounds in the past 4 weeks. I'm happy with that at 11.5 months out. Onward and downward!I
An NSV: On a whim, I tried an old jacket on yesterday, one which I bought at least 15 years ago and for some reason never wore. It still has tags. It's black suede with (faux) fur cuffs and collar, princess seams and jeweled buttons - very Anna Karenina-looking. I like that style. Anyway, I could actually get it on and buttoned, at least the top two buttons. Last time I tried it my arms were too fat, let alone the rest of me. It will look better in another 20 pounds, but still, getting into it at all made me happy.
QOTD: If absolutely pressed i could be fast, but generally I need around 2 hours to be ready, more if I wash my hair. I threw away my ancient blow-dryer when I moved - it was literally around 30 years old and very drying (not in a good way). So now I air dry my hair, then section and flat iron it. It takes about 2 hours to air dry unless I sit in the sun. Sectioning and flat ironing takes another 25 minutes. Showering, dressing, and putting on makeup, perfume and jewelry require at least 40 minutes, an hour is better, and again shampooing adds time.
Fortunately I work from my home so this usually isn't an issue, but when I have an early appointment it's better for me to shower/wash my hair the night before. Then I still like a couple of hours in the morning but can roll out faster than otherwise. I am going to get another hair dryer so I don't have to wait so long for my hair to dry. Does anyone here use a Dyson dryer? Do you like it? My hairdresser swears by here and it does seem to do a nice, quick, frizz-free job - but wow, what a crazy price tag! Also, since I now live in an island, it takes a full half hour from my house to the mainland, so I have to figure that time in, even just to go to the Post Office - there is no Post Office on this island. I could be at my old Post Office in 4 minutes, boo.
The plan today is to stick to 625 calories.
First: great big mugs of tea!
B: ham and smoked gouda
L: beef tips
D: tuna, cottage cheese, maybe a little pickle? I'll have to check the carbs in that one!
Have a wonderful day my friends!
