Happy Friday! I'm retired so it's just another day. Yesterday was busy and I never go on the computer. Had a meeting where I'm secretary so had to go. DH talked me in to taking the secretary job for his group. Why did I do it? It's a group of mostly seniors. There's a business meeting, entertainment and lunch. The group does some activities like dinner theatre, ball games, etc. The president is a nice guy but very unorganized and drives me crazy. The food is catered and I don't eat. It's never hot enough and pasta is served often. I went to Sonic and had a slinger for 350 calories. It's just the right size and I take off part of the bun. Keeps me for hours.

After the meeting went to the hospital to check on DH. He is feeling better and getting great care. He is coming home today.

JB, I know how stressful it can be waiting for a job offer. My son is looking for a job. The ad will say need help immediately but he interviews and it takes awhile for them to get back to him.

QOTD: I don't like hot and humid and that's what we have in Missouri. Our spring was very cool and now we're in the 90s. I'm a big fan of AC. If it's nice I enjoy sitting on the deck with a big glass of iced tea and a book. We don't take vacations due to lack of funds and I don't want to leave my dog. I know.....it's a dog but he would miss me and I would miss him.

I made an overnight oatmeal thingie from a recipe from Click. It was pretty good but it was so thick I added more almond milk. Might make again with only one scoop of Click. You could probably use other protein powder. I could only eat half.

B: Overnight Click Oatmeal

L: Salad w/chicken, ham and cheese

S: Protein shake

D: Johnsonville brats.....maybe

S: Strawberries

Glad to hear that DH is doing well and coming home. All the best to him and as you play nurse!

As for leaving the kids behind, it's really hard. We have cats and mostly do just long weekends where they are okay. Once a year we go to see my MIL for a week and it is really hard to leave them even though we have a great sitter! Maybe you could find a place that you could take your baby along! Vacation for the whole family!

We visited Washington DC for a week in April to see the monuments, White House and. Some museums. We had a pet sitter come in for the 3 cats and we brought our dog (lab /shepherd mix- not a small dog) we stayed at the Kipton Hotel near Georgetown that allows dogs! Near a nice park or field to walk her in. We brought her bed that she had in the car (mini van) for the 5 hour drive and she loved it!!! Kids in very back seat and dog in the middle seat on her bed! She was very happy. First time we did it and I would go it again.

i also have anxiety leaving the animals behind. My babies!

That's awesome! There are more and more places that are pet friendly and I'm glad that she had a good time!

It is hard to leave our fur babies! We are lucky that DS can take care of them, but we will especially miss our little Justice when we go away in a couple of weeks. He is so loving, personable and energetic that we love having him around. Our older chihuahua (17) isn't very social these days (wasn't a lot when young and less so now), so we won't miss her as much but will worry about her.
